Nouvelle sortie digitale sur I.O.T Records.Après Mentalo et son trip hop…Break hop… c’est au tour de MC2 de diffuser via ID.IOT le label digital d’I.O.T Records. Le duo Marseillais - parmi les trop rares représentants d’une scène glitch hop française qui en est à ses balbutiements - pose sa valise sur I.O.T Records pour sa première réalisation originale. Nos deux compères, Miosine et C.kel, en pleine effervescence depuis quelques mois déjà suite à quelques remix réussis et remarqués (Missil, Tambour Battant, Nasser) continuent leurs expérimentations sonores avec ce digital EP qui parlera à la tête et aux jambes. Les deux morceaux de ce « MC SLICING » laissent transparaitre un style propre au combo marseillais… l’altération aiguisée des samples vocaux appuyés par un traitement sonore méticuleux et précis à souhait laisse entrevoir une maitrise dans la décomposition sans que le groove et la surprise ne soient délaissés. Comme son nom l'indique, MC Slicing prend un malin plaisir à découper les voix et à les réarranger dans un chaos bien ordonné, pour leur faire chanter une mélopée imparable sur fond de claps et de basses énormes. Algeria 25 y ajoute un sens de la mélodie aiguisé, porté par un lead-synth arabo-westcoast aussi improbable qu'efficace. Un pavé dans la mare qui confirme tout le bien présagé par leurs remixes.
 
New digital release on I.O.T Records. After Mentalo’s trip hop ... break hop ... it's the turn of MC2 to broadcast via Id.IOT  the digital label of I.O.T Records.The duo from Marseille, one of the too rare representatives of the french glitch hip hop scene, which is just beginning, is I.O.T Records for their their first original production. Our two culprits, Miosine and C.kel, who have been growing for the last few months after a few highly acclaimed and successful remixes (Missil, Tambour Battant, Nasser) that continue with their sound experiences with this digital EP which will hit your intellect as much as your legs.  The two tracks of this &lt;&lt; MC Slicing &gt;&gt; shows off the personal style of this Marseille combo... The clever use of the sampled voices backed up by a meticulous and precise sound treatment show a real command of sound decompositi! on without taking anything away from the surprise and the groove. As it's name indicates MC Slicing takes a wicked pleasure in cutting up and re-aranging the voices in a well organised choas, to have them sing an incomparable  song to the backing of enormous bass and hand claps. Algeria 25 adds a sharp sense of melody, carried by an Arabo-West Coast  lead-synth as improbable as it is effective. An explosion confirming a good omen for their remixes.

> From Marseille to Strasbourg…
Recently signed to I.O.T. Records, Caterva is back on the scene with the eclectic label from the South of France. From Marseille to Strasbourg…From south to north, the 4 record project in preparation represents the idea that musical influences come from every directon.

> Caterva goes up north
Caterva is at the 4 cardinal points of bass music. Over the course of 2010, 4 two-sided vinyls (with a third, digital track to download) will visit a few of the different musical styles on the contemporary electronic music scene. A first opus, scheduled for release in april 2010 is pointed North toward UK dubstep, recorded and mixed by Probe1 (Torsion Records).

A second opus named “Caterva goes down South” will explore the South American and African influences for a trip into the Kuduro of Angola, featuring the flow of Uruguay’s MC Baâl.

The East comes next, and the deep sound of Berlin. The Strasbourg-based group, as a result of their geographic proximity, have long been touched by the minimal sounds of the Berlin underground.

Finally Caterva’s musical pilgrimage leads them west toward North America, specifically New York, musical laboratory par excellence where the Big Apple’s own Mr. E meets them at the intersection of new hip-hop and destructured dub step.

To complete this musical voyage, Kashmir, Caterva’s VJ and graphic designer, has created 4 album covers, independent yet complementary. Assembled, the four designs complete a puzzle for you to discover.

These four 45s are the pillars on which the group’s first album has been constructed. To be released (on CD and digitally) later this year. Stay tuned…

V.P.S. Records & I.O.T. Records present Caterva's Cardinal Point EP series. From south to north, the 4 record project in preparation represents the idea that the influences of the global bass movement come from every directon. The forthcoming vinyl, "Caterva goes West" will be released on June 26th, 2013.
 
Caterva is at the 4 cardinal points of bass music. 4 two-sided vinyls visit a few of the different musical styles on the contemporary electronic music scene. A first opus, "Caterva goes up North" released in 2010 points North toward UK dubstep, recorded and mixed by Probe 1 (Torsion Records).

Remixed by the French production duo, Turnsteak, "Directions" switches to glitch-hop on side B of "Caterva goes West".

Finally, the group will travel East to delve into the deep sound of Berlin. The Strasbourg-based group, as a result of their geographic proximity, have long been touched by the minimal sounds of the Berlin underground and it is omnipresent on "Caterva goes East"

To complete this musical voyage, Kashmir, Caterva’s VJ and graphic designer, has created 4 album covers, independent yet complementary. Assembled, the four designs complete a puzzle for you to discover.
These four 45s, and the geographically diverse influences they point to, are the pillars on which the group’s first album, "Out of Control" has been constructed. It is to be released in October of this year. Stay tuned…
