Minimal Orchestra, a duo in the studio and a quintet on the road, are a group that craft and play delicate, expressive jazz tinged with electronic influences. Following the release of one album and a European tour, the group readies their next LP, ‘Lift Off’ for France-based label I.O.T Records this March.

Across the LP the group deliver rich, improvised compositions with a psychedelic touch and dream-like soundscapes. Across the record, from the opener ‘Flued’ through to the end, the tracks shimmer with electronic and organic textures, sitting comfortably at the crossroads of jazz and electronica with a touch of jungle.

On lead single ‘Beat 2’, a beatless introduction of airy chords and bass licks evolve into a fast drum workout as additional instruments and FX are gradually introduced. ‘C’est la Vous’, adopts a four-four pattern littered with live percussion and spontaneous keys while ‘British Drama’ brings together laidback rhythms and vibrant grooves with attention to melody, making for a lush and musically thrilling journey.

__ About Cinna Peyghamy Remix __ 

For this 4th and final rework of her Fifth Dream album, Azu Tiwaline simply called on her stage and studio partner Cinna Peyghamy. A percussionist of Iranian origin, he is behind most of the drums used by Azu in her tracks. In a way, this track is the beginning of a fractal. Cinna provided her with the sonic raw material, then Azu created Blowing Flow from it, and now he has appropriated it for something new. The process could be repeated endlessly. And it would still be just as beautiful.

Recently signed to I.O.T. Records, Caterva is back on the scene with the eclectic label from the South of France. From Marseille to Strasbourg…From south to north, the 4 record project in preparation represents the idea that musical influences come from every directon.

> Caterva goes up north
Caterva is at the 4 cardinal points of bass music. Over the course of 2010, 4 two-sided vinyls (with a third, digital track to download) will visit a few of the different musical styles on the contemporary electronic music scene. A first opus, scheduled for release in april 2010 is pointed North toward UK dubstep, recorded and mixed by Probe1 (Torsion Records).

A second opus named “Caterva goes down South” will explore the South American and African influences for a trip into the Kuduro of Angola, featuring the flow of Uruguay’s MC Baâl.

The East comes next, and the deep sound of Berlin. The Strasbourg-based group, as a result of their geographic proximity, have long been touched by the minimal sounds of the Berlin underground.

Finally Caterva’s musical pilgrimage leads them west toward North America, specifically New York, musical laboratory par excellence where the Big Apple’s own Mr. E meets them at the intersection of new hip-hop and destructured dub step.

To complete this musical voyage, Kashmir, Caterva’s VJ and graphic designer, has created 4 album covers, independent yet complementary. Assembled, the four designs complete a puzzle for you to discover.

These four 45s are the pillars on which the group’s first album has been constructed. To be released (on CD and digitally) later this year. Stay tuned…

Minimal Orchestra l’accompagne tout au long de cette épopée spatiale loin de la Terre pour son dernier voyage et nous revient donc avec leur nouvel album : « Laika's Take Off ». Leur jazz hybride mâtiné d’électronique pose un oeil bienveillant sur le canidé astronaute, tout en se questionnant sur le parcours de ce dernier, des rues de Moscou où il fut récupéré, jusqu’à son entrainement qui précède le décollage de la station spatiale Baïkonour.

Hi friends,

Before listening to "Tender Love", I would like to thank all the people who made it possible. Ocie Elliot aka couple of the year, Louis Chartier and his team, MaJu Records and I.O.T Records, my family and all the people who worked on it whether it be for the diffusion, the advices or the critics.
Without forgetting all of you who keep on listening to my releases, for some reasons that I still don't fully understand,

I would also like to explain that this song, as well as its video clip, were made 2 years ago. Some problems happened, some delays have accumulated. After a while I wasn't sure I still wanted to release it. 2 years is a long time. 
What made me change my mind is to always be able to "enjoy" it when other productions are unbearable for me the next day, but also the positive feedback I received from some of you in private. So I decided to release it, as it was made 2 years ago. I couldn't tell that it represents exactly what I'm doing now but it remains very important to me. I hope it will be the same for you.
