Take it from me

The original is from a short period when I borrowed my son's computer. He had some software called Acid Forge, which I called a sequencer. I used supplied samples of "real instruments" and "placed" notes or short clips on a musical stave. A very short dalliance which resulted in a dozen or so pieces in various genres - most of which I did not understand. However to my untutored ears they sounded OK. But it was not for me. This track is a cover of one of this short series of compositions, probably has more energy and more variation, as I used the weirdness turned up as far as I dared. Just a fun exercise for me whilst busy with things other than music.

Originally released under his Oiryal production name, March 13 and his "Flight of Ideas" hit the catalogues of Melancholy Deep in July 2016. Now Yin : Yang revisits the track courtesy of a pair of new remixes from Eastern European stars.

With a self-confessed love of making electronic music, Hexlogic has hit the ground running over the past twelve months. Able to supply cross-genre appeal with work ranging from deep and progressive house, to electronica and trance, the Hexlogic sound has graced such imprints as Intricate Records, Colorize and Silk Music. Furthermore, a remix of Cosmic Gate and Julie Thompson's "Fireflies" for Black Hole in April 2017 has provided a stamp of authority for the Ukrainian producer. 

Following up on his remix of Tioan's "All World Lies" for Yin : Yang, the Hexlogic remix of "Flight of Ideas" provides a strong rhythmic underpinning with pounding beat and hi-hat urgency before echoes of March 13's original emerge with delicacy and skill. The loquacious vocal so prevalent in the original makes its presence felt as rippling melodic effects and a sumptuous bass line are brought to the fore in an emotive breakdown, before the driving beat takes up the mantle again in the third movement.
