Soaring amber violet skies darken to an onyx wine as they surrender their hue to the shadows. The sun sets, pupils dilate. The shift to primal instinct occurs. Predators prowl for prey. A sequence of stealth, centre, strike. Enter the void state; complete focus on that which is happening, that which is primitive, feeding on the vibrations...

Through Mydrasis, Bassic Records Label DJ Vorpal emphasises the psychedelic and techno foundations of Bassic, whilst injecting a darker driving energy. The boldness of the compilation is complemented by fierce attitude and a heavy slice of steez. A collection of mysterious creatures spawning curious creations capture a glimpse of the dimming day and the soul of the night.

Our story unfolds in the beginning when there was nothing, until the goddess descended into the void. Out of the nothingness she created the land and ocean, followed by the forests, mountains and rivers. She named this land Helia, and left behind two artifacts - the Eastern and Western Orbs - that would, in her absence, keep the world in balance. 
For thousands of years the land of Helia prospered and seemed was destined to remain forever fruitful,  until a group of Helians tried to locate and use the power of the Orbs for their own purposes. In their greedy pursuit the Eastern Orb was shattered - quickly turning half of Helia to a world of imbalance, twilight and shadow.
The goddess, infuriated by the betrayal of the Helians, refused to forgive the unbalancing of the world and withdrew, leaving the continent to its own undoing. Hope remained, and a plan was set in motion to restore balance to this broken world. 
Myth Helia gives life to this epic odyssey. Enter the world beyond and let the tones, grooves and frequencies take you further into the myth.

Acid Flowers EP is the debut release by the German co-founder of Digital Diamonds and one half of Alic, Piece Of Acid. The driving concept behind the project is based on Roland’s renowned bass synthesizer from the ’80s, called the TB-303, after its unique sound and warm timbre. This gives the EP a retro, acid techno vibe complemented by analog sounds and clear-cut production. However, there’s a refreshing visionary, psychedelic approach in the textures and sound design, using insect-like and glitch effects. On top of that, it has ear-catching ideas that make the tracks not only dance floor gems but well-composed songs. We foresee a promising future for this budding project.

Closing off the year with a big bang in music production circles roughly translates to the release of one fully solid EP. Jossie Telch delivers on this with his last release of 2020 – titled 'Frogs'. With a glossy techno frame that's dabbed by crunchy, psychedelic elements and that unmissable Jossie Telch groove, Frogs brings us those feel good soundwaves in sultry, dance floor banger packaging. Featuring remixes from Gaudi, Electrypnose, James Monro and Luis M, this 5 track EP showcases the versatile spectrum of the melodic techno genre. Gaudi accentuates the more downtempo rhythmic side of the original, Electrypnose takes things up a notch with more mind-bending interpretation, James Monro takes the hypnotic minimal approach, while Luis M raises the foot stomping bassline to irresistible new heights. Quality production from beginning to end, the new EP from Jossie Telch is a far-reaching collage of genre blending sounds.

DJ Ipcress has been at the forefront of the UK underground electronic music scene for over 20 years.  Having honed his unique psychedelic techno sound in the London warehouse parties of the mid 2000’s, he moved seamlessly to the festival circuit and has played many UK and International events since 2007.  Combining the driving basslines of contemporary techno and the melodic structures derived from his background in psychedelic music you can expect a journey as the layers are built up and groove locked in.  In 2012 he teamed up with Ben Coda and launched the Nanoplex LIVE project which has gone from strength to strength with 3 albums and a number of high profile EP’s released on Iboga Records.  With performances at Boom, Ozora, Symbiosis, Rainbow Serpent, Glastonbury, Origin Festival, Noisily Festival & Glade as well as countless others across the globe – this is just the start of story.
