A former software engineer, Peiqi Liu first joined the Anjunadeep roster in 2023 via the Explorations 22 VA compilation. He has numerous previous releases on labels like Monstercat Silk and Beijing’s East Records, and has delivered sets at some of East Asia’s leading electronic music venues. In 2024, Peiqi took to the stage at Creamfields Hong Kong, and at Anjunadeep label showcases in Shanghai’s Bandai Namco Dream Hall and Singapore’s Zouk.

The new EP shows IPeiqi at his best. ‘The Harbour’ and ‘Magic Hands’ are both led by catchy melodies and bouncy drums, while ‘Power Down And Start Again’ offers a playful take on modern electronica with a memorable vocal sample.

IPeiqi’s ‘Power Down And Start Again EP’ is out February 12 via Anjunadeep Explorations.

IPeiqi, a Melodic House/Techno music producer from China, has already made a name for himself with his eight years of deep experience in electronic music production. He is the first Chinese musician to release works on Anjunadeep and Monstercat Silk labels, and has also released songs on Songspire, a music label owned by Blackhole, as well as influential domestic music labels such as AROS, Prajnasonic, Ran Music, and Deepfaction. His works are unique and break the traditional framework of Progressive House. He follows his inner feelings, with soul melodies and beautiful atmosphere as the core, creating music with a unique gentle and warm temperament. In recent years, IPeiqi has collaborated with Anjunadeep and Anjuna China on several tour performances, including the highly anticipated 2024 Creamfields Hong Kong and Zouk Singapore shows. The contagious stage atmosphere he brought was deeply loved by the audience and won wide acclaim.

Approaching its 20th year, Anjunadeep has become “one of dance music’s ultimate tastemaker labels” (Billboard). Known for breaking global artists like Ben Böhmer, Lane 8, Tinlicker and Dusky, the label has a reputation as “an A&R hotbed” (Resident Advisor).

Now, the label launches its new imprint titled ‘Anjunadeep Explorations’ this July. ’The ‘Explorations’ imprint is an evolution of the much-loved Various Artist EP series of the same name, which spanned 25 editions between 2016-2023 on Anjunadeep. Responsible for bringing through now-mainstay acts to the label such as Ben Böhmer, CRi, Luttrell, Rezident and Simon Doty, the series has also featured underground talents like Theo Kottis, Sam Goku and Gacha Bakradze. The label will focus on unearthing the next generation of electronic music talent, as well as introducing established acts to the Anjuna roster.

The label’s first release is an exclusive 12” sampler, comprising six tracks from artists signed to the label including Chris Luno, Klur and Marley Carroll, with individual digital releases to follow. The vinyl is a limited run of hand-stamped white label vinyl.
