Street Assemblies are a series of public assembly platforms across London designed by URBAN RADICALS, prompting citizens to actively engage in shaping their city's discourse. Taking various scales and forms, these platforms facilitate conversations from everyday interactions, to organised public debates and performances. 

This recording is a live broadcast that took place on the 22nd of June 2024, at URBAN RADICALS' Voicing Pod.

Description:
Linking with URBAN RADICALS and the Voicing Pod's and its intention to narrate stories of origin, migration and cultural exchange; MACCA (NTS Radio) puts sounds of 'outsiders' front and centre within a space (both the City and Lloyd's Building) that wouldn't normally be known to reverberate with such voices and vibrations. 

This is also a nod to the building's nickname 'The Inside-Out Building'; though in this instance we're encouraging outsiders to come visit the 'underbelly' of a building that they may have only ever previously viewed from the exterior.


MACCA:
First appearing on NTS Radio back in 2015, Macca has grown into a staple of discerning NTS listeners Saturday mornings since holding down the weekly slot with the One Glove Breakfast Show in late 2021. The show has become a beautiful ritual for many with Macca musically moving across folk, jazz, soul, balearic, house and much more - with a dedicated following of listeners, a buzzing chatroom and his dulcet tones delivering a spectrum of sounds and stories in a relaxed, low-key and heartfelt way.
