An hour and a half of selections from my 6-hour set at The Eagle NYC on March 18th, 2023. The vernal equinox deals with themes of dark vs light, new vs old, and beginning again. The mix begins in an ambient cloud, and then moves from classic house to afro house with ease. Building through melodic layers, the peak is, of course, techno, which falls into onto beautiful pad of downtempo and organic beats to finish things off.

As a DJ, It’s relatively uncommon to have a full 6 hours to stretch out your wings in the booth. I kicked off the night with a selection of deep & progressive house cuts. As the crowd developed, the energy grew through layers of dark, melodic techno calling from the sounds of outer space 🖤👽

In the prime window of 3 to 4:30 AM, at Darklands 2024: Fusion for Hustlaball, in Antwerp, Belgium, the air was thick with anticipation and vibrated with the collective pulse of thousands of European fetish enthusiasts. 

Ambient layers unfurled into a rich tapestry of sound, where harder, faster beats met the intricate beauty of melodic techno, creating a symphonic journey that was both intense and uplifting. Surprising bursts of pure nostalgia served as brief interludes that evoked the past yet felt entirely at home in the forward-thrusting momentum of the night. These elements combined to create a sophisticated soundscape, where each track was not just heard but felt. 

It was a convergence of the cool, the unexpected, and the profoundly personal, all playing out under the spell of the Antwerp night.

One hour carved from a marathon journey at Eagle NYC. This slice captures that perfect peak-time moment when the dance floor was hitting its stride and the crowd was locked in. Raw tech house grooves meet melodic techno atmospheres, with warehouse-era vocal snippets weaving that crucial human touch through the machine funk.

The mix moves between driving beats and more hypnotic progressions, culminating in a vocal section that never loses sight of that essential NYC grit. A proper hour of contemporary club sounds that still carries the spirit of 90s underground energy.

The night opened with intention—moody, spacious, and low to the ground. Early tracks leaned into slow-building grooves and atmospheric depth, balancing deep basslines with playful rhythmic details and flashes of melodic nostalgia. There was a soft emotional pull beneath the surface—never sentimental, but charged with a kind of after-dark sincerity. The energy stayed dialed back, keeping things controlled and heady, with vocal moments used sparingly for contrast. As the floor filled out, the sound shifted gradually from introspective to tactile, weaving in more bounce, grit, and attitude. As the night grew later, things had taken on a flirtier, more body-focused edge—still simmering, but unmistakably headed somewhere.

This stretch locked into high-tempo, peak-time techno— heavy low-end, sharp edges, and precision-engineered impact. Classic references brushed against modern pressure: Italo and trance motifs collided with raw drum programming, distorted synths, and vocal stabs built for dark rooms and big systems. Rolling rhythms carried the floor forward, while acid lines and rave flourishes cut through with clarity.

The energy tightened and intensified as the set progressed. Melodic threads unraveled into propulsive builds, with breakdowns designed for tension, not release. The sound grew more muscular with warehouse kicks, warped synths, and a widescreen sense of scale. No lulls, just pacing: push, pull, release, repeat. By the end, everything was dialed in and dripping— sweaty, locked-in, and beyond negotiation.

Fleur captures a summer afternoon in The Pines, where sound and setting entwined. Across three hours, the mix unfolds with a measured grace; warm house shaded with soul, disco refracted in salt air, grooves stretching and softening with the sea breeze.

What begins as bright and effervescent slowly settles into deeper hues, mirroring the sun’s descent distant. Each transition feels less like a shift of tracks than a petal opening— a gradual bloom shaped by time, place, and the gathering around it.

Neither fixed nor repeatable, it lingers here as a trace of its moment.

This set starts in the fog. Dubby, spacious, and patient, like you’re feeling the room’s pulse through the walls before you ever see the dancefloor. The low end is warm and elastic, the percussion is distant at first, and everything moves with that slow, confident pressure that makes people lean in closer.

Then the screws tighten. The groove turns functional and physical, hardgroove swing, raw, rolling hypnosis, all elbows and momentum.
