iq140 is proud to welcome Wendepunkt, a talented and well-established producer hailing from Vienna. After catching our attention with his track "Diametral" on NB Records, the producer is debuting on iq140 with his two-track "Knobs EP." The title track builds on a melodic chord-based groove, making good use of reverb and filtering effects to build a progressive bomb. "Blow" features a bell-like lead which climbs up to the break before diverging into an unforgettable melody. This release perfectly represents the sound of melodic, groove-based techno, which is what iq140 is all about.

Quentin Chei makes his appearance on iq140 Ltd. with his new single 'Sous-Sol.' The title track uses soft chords and changing clap patterns, along with a thin needle of a synth, to create a late-night vibe. On the flip, '080898' is slightly more upbeat, with crisp hats that accent the subtle dynamic atmospherics.

iq140 is proud to present our first compilation, titled 'Hydrogen' after the first element. The album showcases the diverse range of the iq140 sound, featuring a variety of staple artists as well as newcomers. The compilation begins with 'Bug Out,' a bouncy tech-house-influenced track from label favorite Ramorae. The Surgeons make their debut on iq140 after their well-received release on Drumcomplex's Complexed label with 'Systematic,' a deep track full of movement and life. Next up is the stripped sound of C01, with a pulsing techno tool that uses rolling toms and claps to create dancefloor power. DJ Henna's track 'Dog' is a peak-time cut with atmospheric pads and trippy leads that progressively change throughout the track. Wendepunkt provides the penultimate track, a shining example of the iq140 sound, with a dark hook and crisp hats and snares. Finally, iq140 newcomer FRZ closes the release with his melodic masterpiece 'Walls,' a 9-minute epic with a long and ambient intro, perfect for opening or closing any set.

Wendepunkt makes his triumphant return to iq140 with the creatively stunning and diverse 'Running EP.' His debut EP was the best-selling iq140 release of 2015, and was supported by UMEK, Barbuto, and more, so he has set a high bar for himself. We think that he has more than surpassed his debut, and this package contains four tracks that effortlessly demonstrate his understanding of the creation of modern, emotional techno with a retro feel. Opening is 'Running,' which, as the name implies, uses percussion and synth rhythms to preserve the constant feeling of movement. He utilizes one of his signature-style hooks to keep the dance floor under complete control. Next up is 'Dots,' another tune with that distinctive Wendepunkt vibe, which features a minimal beat and bassline coupled with a pair of warm, driving synth layers that create the feeling of a mix that is neither too empty nor too full. 'Darkness' changes things up a bit, and has more of a dark lead than a hook. Slight percussion stabs bubble in and out, making this tune very distinctive, and completing its eerie midnight vibe. 'Syndrom' is the perfect closing track, the most minimal of them all, with dissonant tribal hits and bass that carries a peculiarly powerful growling punch.

RocCyjoes make their debut on iq140 with a beacon of an EP that shows the way towards the label's future. The talented duo have provided three tracks that demonstrate their forward-thinking, eclectic take on musical flamethrowers. The title track fittingly sounds like a sparkling diamond, specifically, one at the center of the sun. The tune uses the stabs and subtle melodies that we love so much to create a really memorable cut that is sure to light up the night. 'Deux K Plus Plus' is a darker, though slightly milder track that uses rolling percussion to radiate a subtle energy, making it perfect for the transition into peak time. Closing is a track that is a bit unusual for the label, 'Still Looking At The Sun,' which is an epic-length melodic anthem. Midway through the rush of pads and lush synths, the track breaks down and a harsher bass line breaks into explore some sonic variation.

DJ Henna makes his grand return to iq140 with 'Naturis,' a no-nonsense three tracker built to blow the club to pieces. The title track is  strong and straightforward, with a forceful groove that suggests images of heavy machinery. For 'BX8,' the artist has teamed up with his buddy Matta to create something more melodic, but still tough and relentless. To close out the release, 'Coffee Maker' tones things down a bit, but still features Henna's distinct progressive build, introducing a steaming hook that increases pressure to the breaking point while still managing to preserve that late-night vibe.

The time has come for iq140 to release our second compilation, this time featuring seven hot tunes of varying styles and intensities. Opening is a stunning number from Empathics, A.K.A. Simone Zino and Simone D'orazi. This stomper uses a twisted vocal to create a groove which, though unusual, is more effective as a demolition tool than dynamite. Next up is 'It's Yours,' a chunky tune from NYC-based Eric Louis which features driving percs and distorted synth hooks which divide the track into distinct sections. iq140 newcomer Random Shape is up next, demonstrating his versatility with the uniquely psychedelic 'Comedy,' taking influences from both the mainstream and the underground to create an atmosphere that is rarely heard. 'Ya Know'Em,' from FabioTek brings some softer vibes while still keeping things ready for the dancefloor through the use of expert synth work and well-chosen vocals. Mittens follows up his massive debut with 'Sustain,' a track which sees his signature melodic style merge with the dark and groovy sounds of a no-nonsense techno anthem. Up next, RAFH's first new track to be released since 2013 is a flawless embodiment of the iq140 sound, building slowly to an ecstatic climax during the break. 'There Is No I,' from new iq140 recruit The Kid Inside, uses driving rhythms and grooves which are very reminiscent of the hard, relentless sounds of the early 2000s. The track is tough and cold in a way that really stands out from the rest of the release, and as such, we think it is the ideal closer.

It's been 1 year since the last iq140 Records release, and in that time we have been planning meticulously, preparing for our return, all with the goal of refining our sound and visual aesthetic and becoming a unique outlet for only the highest quality underground electronic music.

And what better way to make our return than with an EP from label regular Ramorae? This time he presents something truly incredible and one-of-a-kind, a four-track EP with a highly diverse and refined sound. Though the music ranges from frenzied, high-energy beats to deliciously smooth chill vibes, every track shows an incredible amount of thought, depth, and care. The result is a chill-inducing 30-minute journey to another dimension and back, which will set the stage for what is to come from the label in the coming months.

iq140 Records is proud to present our first release of the new decade with a fresh four-tracker from master techno DJ and producer ZeXter. In the past couple of years he's been releasing monster track after monster track, with a stream of originals and remixes that never disappoint. His offering for iq140 is a masterful showcase of his sound; a fresh take on the present state of techno that weaves dazzling melodies together with his stomping, driving percussion.

The title track 'Anyways' has been one of ZeXter's most highly anticipated tracks, destroying dancefloors everywhere he goes with its hypnotic pads and vocals and stylish hook. The track's Industrial Synth Edit is a bit of a darker alternate take which introduces a distinctive and trippy percussive synth.

'Spiral' wears its trance influence on its sleeve and demonstrates ZeXter's impeccable ability to blur genre lines. The cut is deep and lush but doesn't lack any power, driven by a chunky kick and low growling bassline.

Finally, ZeXter has teamed up with label manager Mikronaut for 'Heat Wave,' a harder track to round out the EP. The music is built over a bed of cavernous, thundering drums, while ravey chords echo out to create an atmosphere like none other.
