“This mix was made in a moment of slowness & presence; the details of the world shifting both at once calmly and frenetically - a spring sunset out the kitchen window, large clouds contorting as they reflect slippery luminosity, a large cacophonous tree - home to neighboring birds, anonymous hands watering plants out a window, a family gathering for a rooftop meal, I notice another person observing - I make a note that presence is observing the observers.”

q. pls introduce yourself

Hi everyone, I’m Raimundo from Santiago, Chile. I dj under the moniker pendrai and I also started recently working as a lawyer. Big fan of cooking and going to camp with my dearest.

q. is there a story behind the mix?

I’ve been picking these tracks for almost 2 years when the pandemic started. One eve I decided dust off my favourites and record my first ever ambient mix. 

q. what's the best way enjoy your mix?

The original archive was named ‘By the sea’ so I guess it works that way for me. It has a lot of references to aquatic scenarios. 

q. describe a favourite object in your living room...

I really like the dry flowers that I have in a cute vase in the middle of the room. I acquired them in the countryside on the road to the beach. Also a big shoutout to my dj equipment. 

q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)?

I have been running Fake Rolex, a podcast series, with my friends Sebastian and Matías for about 4 years. Hope we keep the enthusiasm and releasing mixes from incredible artist.

To start a new year at Fake Rolex we present a thoughtful and emotive selection by Felipe Zenteno a.k.a Niteroi (@niteroifelipe), producer from Santiago de Chile, whose music combines elements of ambient, IDM and techno sounds in order to explore landscapes, introspective rhythms and long cadences. 

His discography has two EPs: 'Géminis II' (ISLA023, 2019), and 'Vertiente' (Self Release, 2021) added to various tracks on different compilations, the most recent titled 'Trizas del Margen Relativo vol. 1' (Cluster B, 2022).

He is also part of a local pop/electronica band named Chicarica.
