Truesoul Records are proud to announce the release of ‘Let Your Soul Outside’, the debut album from Reset Robot in April 2014.

Behind the Reset Robot project is Dave Robertson, a producer who has released standout singles on labels like Dogmatik, Intacto and Adam Beyer’s Truesoul imprint over the past 5 years. Now he steps up with his debut album, the stunning ‘Let Your Soul Outside’.

The LP was written at Reset Robot’s home studio in Portsmouth and is an album of fascinating textures inspired by “all the music I listen to and love!” says the producer himself. “I've wanted to do this for a long time and all of a sudden I had 8 or 9 tracks together which were a little bit different. I added a few more and asked a close friend, Tom Powell from Mister Woo, to add vocals to a couple of them and it was ready.”

The result is a full length that touches on many different moods and emotions, starting with the melodically soothing tech funk of ‘Guitar Man’. Tracks like ‘Little Alice’ then pick up the momentum thanks to slick beats and crisp percussion and ‘Sizzler’ introduces a soulful vocal element over more tortured sounding, synth-laden grooves.

It’s not all full on dancefloor material though, with tracks like ‘Desi Beats’ it allows you a little time to breath thanks to their more widescreen and laidback vibe, whilst ‘Sausage’ strikes a truly emotive pose that has your thoughts turning inwards.

With this album Reset Robot proves both his range and his dexterity – no two tracks sound the same, and instead the Portsmouth producer explores every nook and cranny with a fine attention to detail that really makes the whole thing sing. ‘Let Your Soul Outside’ is a stellar achievement.

Vienna’s Schönbrunner Perlen label is an always interesting outlet that offers truly musical dance sounds. Following on from a Various Artists EP and solo efforts from Lupo and Denis Yashin comes this, a magic new single from Oberst & Buchner ft. Mimu.
Oberst & Buchner are Bavarian collaborators who between them hold down residencies in Vienna and have released experimental concept albums, as well as being a firm part of the Schönbrunner Perlen family.
Their new single ‘Doves’ is a patiently building, hugely sensitive bit of house with punchy and playful drums, ethereal soft focus synths and a chilly iciness running up its spine. Breathy, stylish vocal inflections add an organic element to the track and it’s the sort of emotive stand out track that will form the peak of any DJ set with its string out and spine tingling, Caribou style synths.
Schonbrunner label boss Ken Hayakawa, who has also released on labels like International Deejay Gigolo, then turns in the first remix. Smoothing out the kinks, Ken re-versions the track as a nice and progressive bit of liquid house riddled with organic percussion, watery chords and sumptuous strings. Next up it’s German Rampue, a regular on Audiolith, who goes super deep and stripped back on his haunting house remix, allowing but a few somber synths and the original’s great vocals to strike deep at your core.
Another German producer, Alex Q, who runs Kleinstadtfeeling and Farbton, remixes into a bouncy bit of drum led house. His textures are frayed, warm and organic and are rhythmically playful as the icy Mimu vocals dance about up top. Finally, Patalc aka Patrick Muller, a man who has released singles on labels such as liebe*detail, Soulfooled, Baalsaal, completes the package with his eerie, darkened version. Featuring well swung drums, emo chords and chilly electronic textures, it’s a wintery track that makes you feel something as well as want to dance.
All in all, this delicious single gets a wealth of great remixes and each one exactly hits the mark it’s going for.

Alan Fitzpatrick debuts on Hotflush with an EP that reveals a new side to his craft, marking a departure from the uncompromising techno that has personified the celebrated artist’s storied career to date.

The EP’s original tracks draw on Fitzpatrick’s extensive production experience yet fit seamlessly into the Hotflush catalogue, retaining a dancefloor sensibility as they explore a range of melodic territory. The title track’s drama lies in its brazenly enchanted synth line, while B1, Vanishing, charts a deeper course, with a slow, percussive burn.

Recent Hotflush addition Auden contributes a remix that shapes the title track into an electro/IDM-indebted excursion.
