The more I write, the more vulnerable I allow myself to be. This record is a step deeper, into places I wouldn’t have felt comfortable delving into before. Music has been one of the most important things in my life, and has helped me feel embraced when I was going thorough hardships and feeling down. These songs are a part of me, a gift from me to you. I hope that you listen to them with an open heart.

Chirp Chirp is  about someone feeling trapped in their own shell and finding freedom through embracing of unity with their surroundings, in this case, a bird on a lemon tree. They are drawn to the bird and enchanted by its free and easy nature. The bird is able to touch something that is hidden so deep in them, and with ‘such a small gesture’ it manages to cut through all the armor they’ve been trying to put on. In the choruses there’s a moment of realization that maybe the person and the bird aren’t as different from each other. In that moment, when all walls are down, the person and the bird are one.

Reality doesn't always make sense. Math is about how things don't add up the way you would except them to. A breakup, a loss of someone significant, injustice in the world... Sometimes you just don't have control and have to accept that, let go and let life do it's thing.

Math

I’ve always had anxiety issues, but they were manageable most of the time. It was noise in the back of my head and I’ve always just thought of it as a part of me, as part of my patterns of dealing with the world. But sometimes it would erupt and turn into an anxiety attack. I would freeze, like a deer in the headlights, breathing fast, but not being able to move. Headlights is about that feeling that this noise is following you, wherever you go, and sometimes it overtakes you and aren’t able to control it.
