sorry it's been awhile since i posted any new music, school's been getting in the way of things recently.
however, i'm back, with a new song, "Violet City"!
the song was inspired by a dream i had about a corrupt city. this is what i think you'd hear first going into Violet City: screams and yells in a frantic environment, where everyone is paranoid.

West 57th St: Disco In NYC With Prelude Records

When LA label Acid Test decided to start the leftfield imprint, Avenue 66, they looked to New Jersey house mystic Joey Anderson for an opening salvo. He delivered the modern psych-dance masterpiece "Above The Cherry Moon." Now Anderson's back again with more of his beguiling dreamlogic. On "If One Cares, They Act Different" Anderson works with a lead that could score an unsettling '80s horror flick, eventually introducing his signature quicksilver synths and abstract, jacking drum patterns. "Peace There" starts with the square-wave basslines and raspy hats Taking us to a psychedelic far away place.  On "The Vase”, Anderson reins things in, but even his bittersweet, relatively straight-head deep house tracks present an odd paradox. His music so alien and human all at once.

Come check out Sam Evian, the front man for Brooklyn-based Celestial Shores & accomplished solo artist---his debut LP was released on Saddle Creek this fall! He's playing WFMU's Monty Hall on the same night as our in-store, on the bill with Vagabond and SAD13. 

Stop by the shop at 3 PM for a free acoustic sampling of his stuff with Sam & band, along with some giveaways and a refreshment or two. Evian's music has been described as "his delicate falsetto...wounded and seductive, with dreamy guitars and twinkling keys." Of course this is a acoustic show with his band, so who knows what to expect? Stop by and hang with Iris.
