LIVE GAMES LIVE MUSIC is a series of digital choreographies performed at the Isle of Games festival, where a composer is paired with a video game, and a game player. The composer improvises a tune with the player´s movement in the game. Iris Thorarins took a spin on the game ABZU by the independent video game development company Giant Squid.

María and Ragnar meet up at a mutual friends’ barbecue and they start connecting to each other. And that’s the end of that, except if they go for a pint afterwards? They might spend a night, or a whole life together. 

The play Í samhengi við stjörnurnar (english: Constellations) by Nick Payne had its Icelandic premiere in Tjarnarbíó last May and received praise from both critics and audience members alike. It will be shown again in the autumn as well as touring around the country. 
The author Nick Payne draws inspirations from laws of quantum physics and the theory of relativity for his script.

Iris Thorarins is an Icelandic composer, vocalist, violinist and electronic musician. Her work consists of various types of projects such as musical scores for theatre, virtual reality, video games, art installations and film. In her solo works, Iris explores such variations through sound. She combines electronica with acoustic instruments like the violin, harps, zithers and vocals as well as experimenting with multilayered loops and textures.
