Remember that episode of the Simpsons where a German company buys Mr. Burns' Power Plant and they ask Homer for what kind of ideas he has, and he suggests for the vending machines to take crumpled dollar bills? The Germans reply: "We understand, Homer. After all, we are from the Land of Chocolate!" Homer then fantasizes about a literal land of chocolate not unlike Candy Land. If you remember the music that played during that montage, this is a chiptune cover of that music.

This is a WIP of "Mama" by the English Progressive Rock band Genesis made for the Sega Genesis (which everyone outside of Northern America calls the "Sega Mega Drive").

So this is some Genesis-on-Genesis action!

Mama (Genesis Cover) [WIP] (Updated)

I made this track as a joke: a Game Boy LSDJ cover of Lil Jon & DJ Snake's "Turn Down For What", complete with sampled Lil Jon. I made it available for you to download. I hope you enjoy it!

This is the track that I made with @adil-soubki for the game Union-Buster-Busting at the November 8-9 Code Liberation/Gamerella Game Jam. The game is about labor union members trying to beat back union-buster propaganda by their bosses.

Union - Buster - Busting

Have you played the Game Boy version of Mega Man 2? It had four bosses from Mega Man 2 and four bosses from Mega Man 3, but different music for all of them. Nobody has touched the soundtrack until RushJet1 remade it here: http://rushjet1.bandcamp.com/album/mega-man-ii-gb-remade 

He added some much-needed changes, such as making the harmonies less dissonant and reducing the register by a few octaves. I was most impressed with his ending theme, which I ported to play on a Sega Genesis (or Mega Drive if you don't live in North America) after looking at the original source file.

This is a mashup of "Megalovania" from Undertale and the music from Heat Man's stage from Mega Man 2, plus a bit of additions I made, all on a Sega Genesis tracker called Deflemask. 

If you download the full album in the link, you get the track, plus the PCM track, plus the VGM file plus the ROM that can be played back on the Kega Fusion emulator as well as an actual Sega Genesis/Mega Drive itself (with the help of an Everdrive MD cart)!

CTrix, a brilliant Australian Chiptune musician, performed at the Low Level Festival pre-party show in Brooklyn in August of 2016. One of the things he did there was that he managed to make a song on the Sega Genesis (known as the Mega Drive outside of North America) where a full vocal track was actually coming out of the audio chip (I was used to hearing only half-second samples out of the Genesis' YM2612 sound chip and nothing more). I was so amazed by what he was doing and I couldn't figure out how he was able to do what he was doing… 

…until two days later. 

Meanwhile, I have subscribed to the OWSLA IV label-subscription download service at drip.kickstarter.com. In addition to getting new music from the label "dripped" for subscribers to download as soon as they're available, there are also other benefits including meet-and-greets with the artists on the label (such as the founder, Skrillex himself!) and stems of some of the tracks that the label distributes. One such track was Kill The Noise's and Feed Me's "I Do Coke", for whom they released the A Capella (labelled by the label as a "Snortapella"). 

So, inspired by CTrix's amazing Genesis work, it was my idea to make a "demix" (or "demake") of Kill The Noise's & Feed Me's "I Do Coke" using the A Capella and a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive tracker called DefleMask to target the Sega Genesis. 

This is the fruit of that labor. 

If you click on the "download" link, you can download the PCM track, as well as the chiptune VGM file and the binary ROM file to play back on a Kega Fusion emulator or-if you have Sega Genesis 1, 2, 3, or a Sega Nomad and an Everdrive MD cartridge–to play back the file itself on a Sega Genesis system!

This is my first NES EP made on Famitracker made in the last two years. Because of my conscious aesthetic choice of absolute minimalism, all tracks are done only on the 2A03 chip with no additional chipsets.
