Originally composed as a joke, "So I Punched 'em in the Face" became an extremely high energy staple of Iron-E's stage show. When performed live, the gag is that the guitar solo continues on and on and on beyond any logic to the bewilderment of the rest of the band. This version seeks to recreate that gag with a false fade out. Fun fact: the title is derived from the punchline of a joke delivered by stand-up comedian Ben Bailey. Funner fact: this track features our drummer's only line of dialogue (lyric?) in the whole album. See if you can spot it...

There's an element of improvisation to this track in that the monologue, while always having elements of common phrases, issues, and philosophies associated with television, is different every time it is performed.

Infomercial

The tale of a mythic band of mechanist outlaws known as the Truckers of the Old West. A driving riff and first-person perspective gives this western-inspired campfire story a pulse-pounding listen.

P.S. This is a shout out to a club I created in high school called The Muzak Society. The title track of "Sandwich Express", much like the mystical vehicle it seeks to emulate, is an unpredictable romp through a cosmic landscape of rock and roll genres. Built on the idea that rapidly and suddenly shifting styles mid-song would be "funny", this staple of Iron-E's bombastic live show finally graces the digital-sound-wave-tubes of the internet.

Iron-E is a wacky and oddly inspiring rock band from the murky depths of Austin, Texas.

Stated tactfully and succinctly, Iron-E is energizing, fun music combined with entertaining theatrics and an atmosphere of unpredictability. Iron-E works toward creating a unique, original, and ultimately jaw dropping performance which will leave the listener with sweaty pits, a nugget of wisdom, and a heart full of dreams. Beware.

In other words, this band (the band in question, that is, primarily, Iron-E) is a cavalcade of immeritous hobbledy hoot accompanied by discombobulating elevator music.
