Hailing from Birmingham Lysergene is no newcomer to UK Dubstep. After returning from a 10 year hiatus, he turned heads throughout 2024 with releases on WiddFam, Macabre Unit and Rewind 140, and we are pleased to present his debut LP on Iron Shirt recordings.

This album is an eclectic record with a constantly shifting energy and vibe, but has Deep and Dark running through it like a coal seam. Collaborative works with producers Squeeth and Prynox, explore the depths and intricacy of sound. A remix by ISR’s own L Nix seals the deal on this masterpiece of Dubsteppery.

Today’s Rewind140 premiere is courtesy of Freddy Street Records. We’ll be taking a look at the title track “Gundown” off of then new Gundown EP courtesy of Ayaluna. Dark synths and low heavy wobbling bass start us off, slowly building up the suspense. That first drop feels like a blast off to outer space, and the sample of a gun being cocked back lets you know this tune is packing some heat! The Gundown EP will be releasing on the 26th of May.

After Dark Music [ADM] announces the release of Dark Effects EP, a collection of five unique tracks by Austrian producer SmallTownDubz, based out of Lienz. 
SmallTownDubz has carved a unique space in the underground since 2015, blending modern stepper rhythms, vast, resonant basslines, and atmospheric textures. This EP showcases and expands on their signature style, fusing traditional dub roots and proper sound system culture with forward thinking bass music.
As a collection of work, these songs will draw the listener through pulsing rhythms and absorbing soundscapes. Each track layers thoughtfully arranged percussion on top of expansive and low end, paired with ethereal melodies. This approach reflects an obvious mastery of creating both dancefloor energy and introspective vibes. As we welcome SmallTownDubz to ADM's domain, we note that we are building on their established reputation from releases on labels like Moonshine Recordings, BassComeSaveMe and Dub Communication, while pushing their sound into new territory. 
The Dark Effects EP invites bass music fans to get to know and dive deep.
