Kupa 4 (Kupa Dörtlüsü) was a band formed of Greek and Turkish musicians who lived in a mutual life culture in İstanbul (or Constantinople). Their roots were connected to rebetiko and laiko, but they were also children of the revolution. Therefore while playing in a tradition of a laiko band, they also had influences from beat and surf. Groovy drumming, Killer Farfisa, and bouzouki-like electric guitar sounds are the key elements in Kupa 4's soundscape. 

The band accompanied Hayko, the Armenian tavern singer, on stage and records. They didn’t back only Hayko but also numerous singers, thanks to Rişar’s business notion. In addition to their function as the studio band, they also made instrumental folk-rock records that reflected Anatolian Rock’s era.  
Kupa 4 rocked the taverns in Turkey and attracted both minorities' and Turks' attention until the Cyprus crisis in 1974.  In this compilation, you will be hearing the recordings of Kupa 4, where they performed a unique laiko beat/surf style made in Turkey. Plus, in 2 tracks, you will listen to the band performing as an influential Anatolian Rock band.

The LP is limited to 500, with 4 page liner notes, archive photos, and a superior re-mastered sound. Also available on all digital services like iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp, etc.

Orhan Özgür Turan from the award-winning trio Hudna publishes the single Kuzey from his solo debut album ÖZGÜR! 

The single is called Kuzey, which in Turkish means North and refers to Orhan's habitat and the inspiration he has derived from the characteristic northern sound. Kuzey is a composition with several elements of, more or less, elemental nature. Folk music from Anatolia is a clear starting point, but it gets a completely different character when it meets Blues, sometimes Psych-Rock and grooving on North African rhythms. 

In Kuzey he meets up with Palle Hjorth and Søren Poulsen, as well as his friends from Hudna, Søren Bigum and Yossi Karutchi.
