The Underground Mix 31.12.22 (That Thick Vibe)

I suffer the curse many DJs I know suffer, the curse of never getting our sets recorded! So I realized it's been a long time since I had done a studio mix, so I spent the week recording and listening and nothing came out right. Then I decided to reflect on my journey as a DJ and as human being. The moment that truly changed everything for me was the moment I found Terence Mckenna when I was in the 8th grade. Though that was a few years before I ever spun a jog wheel, it is the moment my journey began, and recently I purchased a record off of my friend with an excerpt from Alien Dreamtime, so I said this is where I will start my mix! Hope you enjoy, I feel like this set really captures my journey as a human and is a pretty good snapshot of my style as a whole, though my deep house side is a bit under represented here I would say.

B.Fly - Global Grooves For Caravan Spring 2023

When I was a kid, I used to wake up with ink stains on my shirt from falling asleep writing so much poetry. Often I wouldn't know what exactly I would even be writing about until I felt like a piece was complete, and only after I read it all the way through did I know what I was trying to express.

I wasn't quite sure what Left of Exile meant to me at first, but looking back now I can tell it's about the story of how I've overcome loneliness and isolation in my life. I look back on these mixes and remember what was happening in the world at that time, as well as whatever I happen to be going through both good and bad.

I hope this marks a time in your life as well. I'm appreciative of going on this journey with you. Thank you for going on it with me 🙏🏽
