Nicolai Toma grew up in Düsseldorf and took roots in electronic music since early in his childhood. Due to his father’s influence (Mouse on Mars) his musical path was predestined. His playful and harmonic style sets him apart from many other producers of his generation - far away from being just another monotonous techno producer. So luckily he found his way to us - even if it was just by accident. Matteo Luis, Cologne's new ray of hope helped along with it. When Ada first heard him playing his remix of Aimless at a party in Cologne, she could hardly believe her ears. A pact was made that night, that this song would find its new home nowhere else than at IRR. Ada's remix is the the icing on this wonderful release!

Lee Burton and Mr. Statik know each other for some time now. They even were roommates for a year, while managing to not record a single beat together during that time. They only had to wait till recently to start exchanging beats and ideas for potential collaborations that led birth to various babies, the first of which is 8:50 am - a fine example of their common fascination with deep and somewhat melodic sound structures.
When they aren't cooking tasty beats in the studio they make a hell of a burger in the kitchen.

What makes this producer so unique is the deep, deep disco house, kissed by spheric, warm and psychedelic influences which he seems to find much more in 70`s Space Rock than in Chicago House or Detroit Techno like so many others.. And this is what he does on this record in just such a banning way.

IRR number three presents Ada in her new (voluptuous) autumn robe. She is wallowing in pop and immersed in a sea of soul leaves. The beat of „Forty Winks“ is strolling through the woods to get a little break, and we in return, are really pleased to have an unusual track for very special moments.
When you flip the record over, you will find „Kink-a-Jou“ – and this one is finest „Ada House“: after the beat has taken a little rest, it passes the bar, and makes its way back on to the dance-floor again.

Can you imagine an up-and-coming house music label without a funky, wah-wah guitar track? Would be a kind of „bojour tristesse“! But thank God René Breitbarth releases us from this ongoing misery by nicely banging on his guitar strings on our fourth release. The only thing you want to do is saunter through the sunny streets of San Francisco, or Berlin, or even Cologne, with comfy „in ear monitor“ plugs and smoking a nice cig (all you non-smokers out there, please use your imagination).
On the flip side, the sun may slowly call it a day and go down at the horizon.

Our search for real club music gems has led us to Hamburg where a young man and his Nord Modular has been attracting our attention for quite a while now: Benjamin Brunn. At least since his workshop 005 release, he has modulated his way straight in our hearts. Unlike other artists he knows how to let his sythesizers speak, and tells us little stories, while always searching for new romantic frequency ranges. So My Heart tells us a story, from the in-ear adapter straight into the heart.

Hrdvsion may not be the first act we were actually checking out for an IRR output but we are not IRRitated that we found it. With “I Can`t Exist” our Canadian friend successfully strikes the balance between deep housyness and accelerated departure. If you turn the piece of plastic around you find a more typical Hrdvsion track celebrating the same magical atmosphere. Last but definitely not least the B2 is a fusion-remix by Ada that insists on being played in the sunshine.

Once upon a very long time ago, the UNHIPILI decided to forget all about the truth by committing her to the sea. The sea dissolved and embraced the truth for many a tide. These were the times without music and sound, when human existence was exiled to the shadows that be.
One day, though, something strange happened. It started with the white dolphin IKE, who at one point simply forgot to move. This is how IKE found the truth. He let the waves bring him to the nearest island. He carefully put the truth back to land before returning to his ocean.
The people on the island were saved. They spotted the truth on the beach, picked her up and dubbed her HUNA. From that day on, they dedicate their souls to HUNA. Sometimes passers-by would ask about HUNA, but receive an answer only in music and sound, gently flooding the beaches of their souls.
