Since the early 90's, I'd say there are a handful of house music record labels that managed to define a sound and stay ahead of the crowd... and Junior Boys Own is definitely one of them. Formed by Terry Farley & Steve Hall in 1992, the West London label was part of the 'Boys Own Collective' back then, a group of friends who DJ'd, promoted, produced records and ran a fanzine. The collective included Terry Farley, Pete Heller, Andrew Weatherall, and Tom & Ed (The Chemical Brothers) amongst others. The label released dozens of house classics in the 90's from artists including Fire Island, The Black Science Orchestra, Roach Motel, X-Press 2, and Outrage - all of whom feature on this mix. In my humble opinion, JBO was and always will be a true house music hero.

As always, this was mixed live on two Technics 1210's and an Allen & Heath Xone 22 mixer. No cheating with technology.

Thanks to the guys for giving me the opportunity to contribute to the excellent Back ToThe Beach podcast series, I’ve listened to them all and Wow! tough acts to follow, I feel privileged to be amongst them all.
Producing a show every week as I do with Area 32 I automatically thought digitally then changed tack and in keeping with the Balearic theme I thought I’d contribute live on vinyl. 
Having lived and worked in Ibiza for many years I know that feeling of healing after the club laying on the beach with headphones on so this is my interpretation of the Back To The Beach theme and the music I would want washing over me laying on the beach the day after on our beautiful Island. Now that the tapes have all been sold and as I Love acid is just around the corner it seemed a fitting time to up this. One of those rare recording of a Live set from I Love Acid - March 2019 @ The Pickle Factory.  

This was early doors, so less of a full on acid assault, more of a cerebral massage with 303 fingers.

Haven’t had a chance to do a Tracklist and to be honest, not sure when I’ll get round to it but happy to ID anything.

Recorded live, so there’s probably a few whuuuurss and Grrrreeeezes but I cant remember anything very bad happening.
