As for our Raccoon—last we saw, they were enjoying summer with Mango the Toucan on a floating island. Now, as the leaves fall, with Mango still around, the island has turned into a garden, complete with carrots and Jazz the Bunny. Together, the three partake in deep conversations, cultivating, and connecting with nature. The colors are shifting, the vibes are mellowing, and a new chapter in the Chillhop world begins. His latest single, the guitar heavy ‘What Could You Be Right Now’ furthers his case, with a sound that will sound right at home on country radio while retaining his signature grit.

Like many country songwriters before him, Henes often sings of broken hearts and life on the road, but on this song he issues a simple plea to a lover: what if we left that all behind and agreed to be happy together? With a hypnotically staccato hook, he makes a compelling case for the joys of companionship. And while we don’t know what becomes of the relationship, the aching plea will tug  at the heartstrings of any one whose longing to find the right person to settle down with.
