"Mamuralia—Fear in an Unfamiliar World," by Nashville author Art Robin, is set in the final days of American normalcy, when the new reality of the COVID-19 pandemic took hold. John Michael Jennings is wandering the backroads of Kentucky feeling dazed and disoriented, having just survived a tornado that destroyed his family’s home. He finds himself more and more isolated—even among other people—as the cold world of the full nationwide shutdown begins to emerge. Before he knows it, reality has faded and fear has taken control. Slowly but surely, the paranoia of contagion tightens its grip on this strange, unfamiliar world, opening the door to horrific waking nightmares that John Michael never thought possible.
