The Phoenix

Once I was like a star in the sky, My art shined bright, everyone knew me by. The applause was loud as thunder, a sweet and warm sound, I danced in the light, my heart was on holy ground. But fame is fleeting, a shadow, a whisper on the wind, My life took a turn, the good vanished from within. The admirers fell silent, their hearts grew cold and deep, I fell into the abyss, couldn't find a place to sleep.

From these ashes, I'll rise anew, Like the Phoenix in the fire, to myself I'll stay true. The scars of my life, they tell of my might, My soul glows, to new strength I've awoken in the night.
