Connoisseur of Babybels and teen grunge, the 18 year old, Isaac Jack forces you to endure his raw emotion. Releasing his debut E.P in May, his E.P is not tied to a theme, Like all of his songs, his E.P is tied to his life. His song “Me and Her’ is about his one eyed 13 year old Spaniel called Lottie. ‘Pointless Girl’ centres around the meaninglessness of young love, and ‘Applesauce’ is a dive into free flowing, free shouting music. His songs transition from light-hearted indie folk (with the likes of Kurt Vile and Doc Watson being key influences), to songs drenched in bitterness. With his fender Mustang slung across his shoulder (a clear inspiration from King Krule) and the bright-orange electrical tape that runs vertically across the body of the guitar, Isaac Jack tells you how he feels. And you have no other choice but to feel the same way. All is left to the listener to hear, with the very simplistic drums and bass lines isolating the vocals and guitar. There isn’t much to write about Isaac, but there’s a lot to listen to.
