Lyrics written on a train journey to Sheffield. Corny train innuendos thinking of Macca's 'Coming up' and White Album (Back in the USSR and lil Revolution reference). Making the music took about 5 mins as its only 3 chords and repetitive, i already knew I wanted the call and response in the chorus. Basic Beatle-y love song based on the picture says a thousand words thing influenced by listening to 'The Underdog' by Spoon after realising it's in loads of films. All written on the same day probably 1 or 2 hours and includes a christmassy chord ripped from the Slade song

The old classic. Written on electric guitar with Harry White on bass trying to come up with something good for a band, possibly to play with Stringers though we never did. we had a break before finishing the chorus with a walk past some water on the way to maccies which made me pick the thought a thought at random for the chorus to be about skipping stones, going from a verse in minor that's paranoid and defensive, into a major chorus thats more positive. eventually played with Emergency Ops and finally released on Spotify with Sample Text

Acoustic B-side written in one sitting and recorded in a day. Going for a Noel Gallagher acoustic b-side song like 'heart of a star'. Lyrics are mostly random thoughts and i think someone said "When was the last time that you saw home" in Doctor Who so it was stuck in there

I already had the riff when i wrote it on a different day with Harry i think before Stones was done. uses the Hendrix chord which led to the 'Purple Haze' mention. Lyrics are about contentment in being lazy, likely as a response to being bored with physics and being fine with not being arsed, equilibrium stationary and balanced. The only original The Stringers played live and later demoed in a different key
