Endgame Festival - Capalbio 2022

Coming Home stands for a return to my musical roots, back to art and culture. When I first started out as a Hip Hop DJ in 1991, spinning records in smoky basements, it was all about music, passion, and the joy of discovering sounds — sharing them with others and experiencing the moment together. We gathered in record stores, searching for the latest releases, and through music we connected.

I was fortunate to grow up in Vienna during a time when nights were shaped by a wild variety of styles — from Dope Beats, Soul, Funk, Afro, Disco, Dub, House, Breakbeats, Drum & Bass to all kinds of forward-thinking electronic music. I experienced the first illegal techno parties, as I was too young entering officially clubs and I had good connection to record stores showing me the hot stuff on Vinyl. It was a journey filled with incredible encounters — people who opened doors that later became life-changing — and always guided by the emotional grounding that music provided.

A lot of this foundation comes from my family. My grandmother showed me music’s power as an emotional anchor in a world that could often feel heavy. After long school days, she would play the piano for hours, teaching me that music is not just sound, but pure emotion — my deepest love. My uncle, on the other hand, sparked my obsession with high-fidelity systems, teaching me how to truly appreciate records in all their quality and detail.

These influences shaped the way I listen, create, and share music. Now, nearly three decades later, I can look back on a journey filled with collaborations, discoveries, and experiences that I carry into every project. It feels like the right time to give back, to pass on the knowledge, energy, and love that music has given me.

Coming Home #1 - Megablast feat. Aminata

My set from the infamous, elusive, mysterious, fun AF Lake Don Pedro (LDP) annual boat party. This was my 1st LDP boat party and I was welcomed with open arms and hearts and blessed with a slot on the opening night (Thursday, October 2nd) from 10 - 11 pm. These heads have been throwing this party for 27 years so I knew I had to come with an eclectic collection of tracks.

The rain stopped just before sunset and produced this beautiful rainbow and we were blessed with stellar weather the rest of the weekend. 

Had an amazing time playing for an energetic dance floor that kept a smile on my face the whole time (even tho it doesn't look like it in the photos, lol). Got a lil rough with the mixes but it was such a magical time, I couldn't not not share. Thanks to the LDP crew and fam for having me out. Can't wait for the next one! <3

What can I say — in all these 25 years of making people dance, this sunny morning in Mexico was truly a special one. Yes, an epic one. The venue, the production, the team — everything came together perfectly. And more important than anything else: all of you beautiful people! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this early morning trip with me.

I started at sunrise, when it was about 12 degrees cold, and finished around four hours later under the bright sun at 24 degrees. You made me play love songs only. Gracias, Thank you, Danke ❤️

She plays regularly at hotspots around Berlin and has a recurring feature on radio station Refuge Worldwide with her project ‘Unmarried Records’, which has recently become an events series. Unmarried Woman grew through the Vancouver club scene, playing at Paradise, Fox Cabaret, regularly on B-Side Radio, and recurrently at the renowned Bass Coast Festival. You can hear her exhibit her eclectic tastes through her Soundcloud, including her previous performance at Bass Coast Festival 2024 & 2022, and mix releases on Pacific Rhythm, PPRZ Records, Obskur Music and Body Heat.

Lee Ambo's relationship with dance music started out by listening to albums like The Prodigy Experience. Growing up in Australia, his influences shifted from grunge to hip hop and beyond. It was a move to Amsterdam on a whim in 2011 that reignited his love of electronic music. Finding himself in the epicentre of festival culture, Lee Ambo was quickly drawn to the deep house sounds that surrounded him. It was a golden era for electronic music and influences from his peers soon introduced him to a lot of exciting new music.

Inevitably, as is the evolution for most Amsterdammers, this turned into a love of DJing as well. Shaped by his countless hours spent on the dance floor and wide musical taste, Lee Ambo's sets can range from funky and groovy basslines to deep heavy bangers. Outside of music, Lee Ambo also dabbles in graphic arts and has been responsible for all the aesthetic elements of Studio Danziger thus far.
