Bach Cello Suite No.1 - Prelude (Tina Guo)

I was inspired by 'Diagnosing genius: the life and death of Beethoven' by Martin Mai. I'm really into his dark way of composing, and haven't played anything of Beethoven yet. Also the video lectures of Jonathan Biss at the Curtis institute of music, gave me lots of help. So this month's classical piece will be the Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor (Op. 27, No. 2) - written by Beethoven, also known as the Moonlight Sonata (completed in 1801). 

So the process took me 3 days to study the sheets and in the end it was recorded by Feau, who did a great job mixing and mastering the piece.

Three piano compositions entitled "Gymnopédies" written by French composer and pianist Erik Satie (1866 – 1925). 
These short, gentle and atmospheric pieces are written in 3/4 time, with each sharing a common theme and structure. Collectively, the Gymnopédies are regarded as an important precursor to modern ambient music.

Etude in E minor (op.60 Nr 22) by Fernando Sor

The CD includes young Chopin’s three masterpieces, composed in Warsaw in the years 1827-29, as well as Andante spianato and Grande Polonaise in the version for piano and orchestra. The music is performed by Nelson Goerner and the Orchestra of the 18th Century conducted by Frans Brüggen. There is a bonus - the Polish national anthem Mazurek Dąbrowskiego for the first time played on period instruments.
Fantasy on Polish Airs in A major, Op. 13 was recorded during a concert held on 30 August 2006 at the Grand Theatre – National Opera.
Andante spianato and Grande Polonaise brillante, Op. 22, Variations in B flat major on ‘Là ci darem la mano' from Mozart's Don Giovanni, Op. 2, Rondo à la Krakowiak, in F major, Op. 14 were recorded in Witold Lutosławski Polish Radio Concert Studio, Warsaw, 11 November 2007
