Ekthelion es una banda Metal con influencias de thrash, groove y progresivo. Se formó aproximadamente en agosto del año 2012 bajo el nombre de Imperium, ante un proyecto para un evento universitario de música, la banda llegó tras grandes discusiones a su nombre oficial "Ekthelion", basado en el nombre de un personaje ficticio de J.R.R. Tolkien.
