Following Anna Gram's Celestial Objects EP last summer, Hammer's Remmah label dips once again into the Glasgow talent pool to present a debut release from another of its most exciting resident DJs, in collaboration with a seasoned veteran of the UK techno scene.

A name sharply on the rise, Stevie Cox recently joined legends Harri, Domenic & Telford at as resident of the club’s flagship Saturday night party, Subculture - the longest running underground weekly house night in the world.

Operating under the guises of Fossil Archive and Roberto, Robert Kirkaldy has cemented himself as a trusted name over the years; building up an impressive discography that never wavers in quality, while playing regularly at some of the most respected clubs around the world, including fabric, Berghain and Tresor.

After meeting in Summer 2021, it quickly became apparent that the pair shared a strong musical connection which effortlessly translated itself into production. A debut release for Stevie and adding to Rob’s amazing catalogue; the Daydreamer EP is a club-ready, emotionally rich four-tracker.

The Daydreamer EP opens with 'Stolen Glances' - a deep, tunnely, dub techno-esque number that pairs soft, spacey effects with punchy drums. Next is 'Searching' - full of tension and dark, acid breaks inspired by the pair’s love for drum & bass, lifted by ethereal vocals from Kiara Scuro’s ZaaZaa. 'Daydreamer' is a hypnotic, feel-good heater that sounds like it was made to be played at the legendary Sub Club in Glasgow on a Saturday night. The EP closes off with a dreamy, stripped back DJ tool edit of 'Daydreamer' which is sleepy by name and nature.

Produced in the depths of quarantine and finally slated for release, Majorettes’ new single “The Waves”. Born from a journey inspired a documentary on the art of sampling, the track was an ongoing project which became a lifeline for Majorettes throughout the long days of the pandemic in the absence of playing out and organizing parties which are so core to the group and the wider Brooklyn house scene they are figureheads of. 

Enlisting three rising peers and producers to rework their original, the trio have curated a stellar EP package to soundtrack fall 2022 and beyond, with some of the most exciting and ones to watch talents in the international underground house scene hailing from Mexico, Colombia and Brooklyn respectively. 

Por Detroit resident and Mexico City upstart Kodemul, delivers a body shaking, exhilarating rework pumped full of energy, rhythmic swirls and fills, and a spell-binding breakdown worthy of any dance floor. “We were blown away by Kodemul’s style and production from the moment we met and many of his tracks have become staples in our sets recently so it was only fitting that we got him on board for this project”. 

Colombian artist, producer, and DJ, ELO, also know as Leeon, is an integral part of Medellín’s dance scene as well as the American underground at large. His rave brake with such grace that it feels extremely fresh and like an old friend at the same time. “While hanging out in the field at Glasontbury’s Block9 this past summer nerding out over each others new productions we knew it would be perfect to have him bring his impeccable style to “The Waves”. 

Brooklyn-based artist PH Balanced takes “The Waves” into an ethereal realm with bubbling vocal effects, pungent pads, and plenty of twists and turns that are smooth, sexy and surprising all at once. “Everyone always ask to hear the PH Balanced remix over and over, you just don’t want it to end. He has such a unique presence in our scene here as both a dj and producer and we can’t wait for the world to soak up his brilliance”.

In his latest release on @boiledwonderlandrecords, Thailand's @sarayudj explores how his formative years in the UK have helped to shape his darker, club-focused sounds on 'Intelligent Jump Rope Music', a four-track EP landing later this month.

On the A side, Sarayu opens with ‘The Bag’, a myriad of warm synths and driving hi-hats across a six-minute cut.

With a good few releases under his belt on labels such as Gene On Earth’s The Sound Of Limo, Gestalt Records, The Sound Of Steam or Craigie Knowes Bristol-based artist Boulderhead has built quite a formidable discography since 2020 and if pressing plants weren’t as busy as they are, the Welsh would have even more music of himself out there. Aside from releasing own music Henry James, Boulderhead’s real name, runs his own label Mint Tea, on which he’s been putting out VAs only so far, also including music from himself under his real name. However, since the label is a passion project according to Henry it does not follow a regular releasing schedule but now seems to be back with an EP and maybe more. In an interview with Torture the Artist Boulderhead speaks about the success of his latest release, the future of the label, how he likes his tea served and more. Additionally he’s mixed and compiled the latest edition of the art:cast series and it’s a deep-treat.

Bio:
London based Isaac Reuben is a DJ and Producer that’s difficult to pigeonhole. Playing across the UK from a young age, Isaac is adept at reading a crowd, both on warm up duties and later in the night. Isaac is currently both resident and founder of a UK based vinyl only night, centred on DIY club spaces and channelling that pre internet age energy.

A prolific producer, his music has been featured in legendary mixes such as the Essential Mix and the fabric mix series. He’s also a regular on the esteemed Hotflush label and its subdivisions, with productions ranging from driving Techno, leftfield Bass, to vocal-inflected House and has provided remixes for artists such as Glaskin, SCB and DART.

Isaac’s expansive record collection is drawn on regularly outside the club environment, with appearances on Rinse FM, Threads and Loose FM. He’s also now producing and hosting the newly revamped bi-weekly Hotflush on Air, and as effortlessly as he does often, will step away from harder club driven music in favour of hitherto unheard rarities alongside the best in new
