To experience my first Afrikaburn, being part of the amazing Spirit Train Tribe,  plus the slot for my set was just incredible and definitely one for the books.

To watch the crowd growing from the scratch, the march altogether through the desert and this massive crowd, the mood and energy - wow.
I absorbed all of that and expressed it all in this set.

Playing at Mezcal Amores was an absolute dream come true. ✨
In Mitla, one hour from Oaxaca - mountains all around, an agave field straight out of a painting, with Olivia Steele’s glowing art installations and messages scattered across the landscape like guiding stars. A lineup full of artists I deeply admire. A production that left zero wishes unfulfilled. And a crowd that felt like home.
Honestly, it was a “pinch me” moment from start to finish. I’m endlessly grateful to have been part of this year’s Oaxaca Experience.
Deborah - the biggest thank you to you and your entire team of dv experiences for bringing us all together in such a magical way and making this weekend truly unforgettable.

I will remember this forever.
I can’t stop smiling.

 It was my first Fusion, definitely not the last. One of the most inclusive, affordable, sustainable and badass events I had a chance to see. The level of creativity, the quality of sound systems, the absence of authority or security, yet the feeling of safety and community. An impressive and powerful sonic city that shows us how the world can be when we work for a greater purpose, together, with strong values. 

This set represents a lot for me, after quite an heart opening trip in Beirut, Lebanon right before Fusion, getting closer to the war opened my eyes to the energies, challenges and times we are living in, while being fuelled and inspired by the beautiful resilience of people. ❤️

The dancefloor as a revolution. Music as a way to heal. The community as a foundation to rebuild the world from the heart space. 🌍   Gratitude to the Sonnendeck crew for the invitation, to everyone who came to dance for the morning session, and big love to old and new friends who made this journey memorable.

✔️ What is your musical background?

My first important contact with electronic music came with my dear friend Dennis (Ganji) who carried niche Downtempo genres into my Munich suburban bourgeoisie environment when I was a teenager.

However, the main influence for my DJ project were - believe it or not - intense sonic confrontations with Full-On Psytrance in 2022. Luckily, once I had my first controller Downtempo and Tech genres took over my library published by labels like down., Talpa Rec. and Crépite and produced/mixed by artists such as Riyoon, Frida Darko, Reyneke, Temple Tears, Antaares, Matildoutz, LENI and - of course - Ganji.

 

✔️ In your opinion, what makes a good afterhour?

Self-confident but mellow and conscious people. No phones, a deep gripping yet suave sound. Eye contact that gets replied with a smile, a caring question or a friendly chat.

 

✔️ How did you feel about the gig?

When Benja from Kompáz asked me to open the event, I did not know what to expect and started planning from creative scratch. Though not many people arrived this early at the Salon floor and  personally I was very troubled beforehand, the time behind the decks was my perfect start for a deeply touching and wholesome weekend.

🐈 It's been quite a few weeks since we set sail at @kater_blau with all of you. But let's come back for one more ride. In between pink water, one or two dolphines and of course where @soso_klein turned Acid Bogen upside down and gave us all a great time! 💥
🌊Thanks to everyone who was there. At this special occasion she arrived from the beautiful french riviera  to our beloved Spree and took us on a special kind of afternoon swim. Groovy sounds await you on the deck, with dark disco and indie dance beats. So pick up your floaties and goggles  for one more time and dive into this wonderful set!🤿🐬

💦What does true happiness mean to you, and have you found it yet?
Wow, that's a lifelong question! :D  For me, true happiness is when you live your life aligned with your desires and values. It's an ongoing journey, as our desires are constantly evolving. But what's certain is that every time I am DJ-ing, or I listen to music I like, I'm absolutely in a state of true happiness!"

❤️What song best captures your current mood?
It's summer, so I'd say the closing track of this Kater blau set perfectly captures my current mood: it's a sunny mashup by the French electro swing band LMZG - thank you @lamuzgueul for sharing this banger! <3 

⛵If you could perform at an event anywhere in the world, which one would it be, and why?
Definitely the Sonnendeck stage at Fusion Festival. It's one of my all-time favorite stages globally, and I'd be incredibly honored to play there one day.

Mezcal Amores was so much more than just a gig for @caleesi and me. It was a really special experience that took place in beautiful Oaxaca, Mexico in the ruins of an old building, amongst candles and flower blossoms and amazing people who really understood our music. We couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere and are so lucky to have been able to play our sound in such a perfect environment. Thank you so much to Deborah, Marie-Lison, Marty, Carla, Mira and Santiago for everything. We’re so grateful to have been part of this unique experience!
