Halleluja Final

bella- Music is a big slap in the face that tells you that what you do affects people. Music has changed me in the way that it heals me, and others too. With my own father being a fellow music lover, I grew up listening to iconic bands like Led Zepplin, Aerosmith, and Queen, as well as my mother who showed me artists like Adele, P!NK, and my current obsession with musical theater. These songs helped me experience certain things on my own and I want to make music that tells people that they have someone who is thinking the same thing. That they aren't alone and that its ok to be feeling whatever  they are feeling whether its the worst or bad mood ever. As a music community, we need to celebrate others and their ideas behind music because without them, our music would be irrelevant.
olivia-  my aim in creating music is to provide more opportunity for others to be met with the escape that it has provided me for years. music heals and distracts, it brightens the dark places, and that's why i continue to do what i do. it's something that keeps my mind going. my taste in music includes pretty much everything. i find myself listening to indie and surf rock styles, along with pop, alternative, and r&b. 
Kate- Music has always been a monumental part of my life and I have always felt at home with the arts. From a young age I was introduced to many genres of music including but not limited to pop, country, rock, and classical. When I was little, my siblings and I would always put on shows and musical numbers for my parents. My musical experience has matured a bit throughout the years however and now I have taken piano, guitar, uke, and vocal lessons. My goal in the music I create is to just solely highlight the music at it's core. As my music taste evoolved I decided that I favor the singer songwriter genre the most. The music I would like to make in the future will be very raw. In my opinion, the more emotional and simple the music is the more impact it has on the listener. I would like to emulate this type of music in my own compositions.
cate- I’ve been writing songs since I was 8 years old. I even remember the first one I wrote, and ironically the title was “This is the Beginning”. I wrote it in one night and performed it for my parents at a time I definitely should have been sleeping. Yet, my parents let me stay up from how excited I was about writing it. Ever since then, i’ve always been interested in music and writing songs.
     Throughout my life i’ve gone through several negative and positive experiences that shape the way i write today. Mean girls in school, Growing up, and obviously boys. Sounds cliche I know, but I like cliche. I don’t like it because everyone seems to be able to relate to it, i like it because i can take a cliche topic and make a unique song with it. It adds a twist, you know? Most of my songs are about becoming who you really want to be, and not letting anybody else try to tell you how to run your own life.
      I want my audience to be able to connect in their own way to my songs. i want them to be able to interpret them however they want so they can enjoy it in their own way. i don’t want everyone to think my song is about the same thing, i want different people to have different ideas. My audience, in my opinion, would probably be girls my age and maybe a little younger or older. Growing up and experiencing new things and finding things out the hard way are the best inspirations for songs because everyone goes through them. Whether it’s the same situation, or completely the opposite, I hope my listeners can find comfort and empowerment in my songs.
     Overall, i want my listeners to feel how i feel when i finish writing a song. I feel powerful, like i just perfectly explained how i am feeling without saying it. I love looking at the faces of my family when they hear another one of my originals, they are so proud of me. I will continue to write for as long as I have a story to tell, which i always do.
