Un pow-wow (Algonquino,significa "reunir") cuenta con los bailarines en una variedad de trajes de colores que representan diferentes aspectos de la cultura de las llanuras.. Del Norte al estilo de pow-wow canciones características de los hombres (con muy poca frecuencia la mujer) sentados alrededor de un tambor horizontal (del tamaño de un bombo) .Del Norte al estilo de pow-wow se deriva de las tribus de las planicies del norte (Dakotas, Montana, Canadá).
