Condolences is the moment where grief is spoken aloud and shared. Cinematic and epic writing shape the movement like a formal act of mourning, while alternative and progressive metal elements give each phrase real weight, as if every chord is carrying another life on its shoulders. The darkness in the harmony is not theatrical; it matches the gravity of the losses being acknowledged.

The winds move through this heavy frame like someone reciting names one by one. Their lines answer the riffs and hits, creating a dialogue where metal provides impact and the winds provide remembrance. That exchange becomes both a testament and a kind of musical silence in which each soul can be honoured. Toward the end, the piece rises into a brief epic turn, not to resolve the pain, but to clear a path for what comes next in Rooms Gone Quiet, where the aftermath is felt in the spaces left behind.

About the album

Condolences is Movement XII of Whirl: Ukraine in Sound, an instrumental cinematic and neo classical suite with symphonic metal intensity and Eastern European folk and Balkan colour. Across 15 movements the album follows a journey from peace to war, through loss and mourning, and toward a scarred return to calm, written from the perspective of those living through aggression rather than watching from afar.

A heavy, heart-wrenching instrumental metalcore track about the pain of distance and the desperate promise of a future together.
This track captures the relentless frustration and emotional weight of two people who are constantly separated by their goals, careers, and the demands of travel.
