Sunday Feast Kirtan - 22.06.14

"Politics and people will let you down and life can be very disappointing. At such a time, when you hear Krishna's flute... how can you resist?" - Cheb I Sabbah. 

"Live at Rudra Mandir" is the Kirtaniyas's first live album recorded on February 02/15/2013 at Rudra Mandir in Berkeley, California. 

The project was produced by the late Cheb I Sabbah who mixed and supervised mastering of the recording and was his last musical project. 

Kirtaniyas are ever grateful for the opportunity to sing the glorious names of the Divine in a traditional form, using melodies and rhythms taken from the ancient Bhakti lands such as Vrindavan, India and Navadipa, Mayapura, India.

I offer my obeisances to Lord Nrisimha-deva, who is always giving bliss to His devotees like Prahlada Maharaja and chiselling at the hearts of demons like Hiranyakashipu. The devotee always sees Lord Nrisimha everywhere. Lord Nrisimha is within and without. Therefore let us all take shelter of Lord Nrisimha.

We all know that Sri Jayadeva Gosvami has written this beautiful Gita-govinda, but without Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu it would have remained locked like a pearl in the oyster shell or a jewel in a locked case. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu manifested the glories of Sri Gita-govinda. Just as without Srila Rupa Gosvami no one would have known the inner moods of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, similarly, by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu relishing the moods of Sri Gita-govinda its glories became manifest for the whole world. I have explained this very high-class philosophy, but only rare devotees in this world can understand it. I have called you here only to give you this."

Traducción

1) Hay de mi, soy tan caído y bajo que ni siquiera una gota de
amor y afecto surge en mi corazón por Sri Guru y vaisnavas. ¿Cómo
entonces obtendré el servicio divino a los pies de Bhagavan?
2) Mi mente esta siempre ocupada en asuntos materiales, evi-
tando que pueda desarrollar amor por los vaisnavas.
3) Día y noche estoy atado por la bruja Maya, con un collar de
deseos materiales alrededor de mi cuello. Completamente ciego,
inútilmente sirvo a personas materialistas.
4) En mi condición caída y sin esperanza, veo que no hay ningún
otro remedio mas que la misericordia de los Vaisnavas.
5) Narottama das ora, «¡Oh Vaisnavas!, ustedes nunca ven las
faltas en otros, entonces por favor sálvenme de nuevo.»
