Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Wednesday evening (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. This is our full inbox from the week beginning Mon 10th November 2025: from Friday afternoon you'll be able to hear our shortlist and pick your favourites on this week's Listening Post which will appear at freshonthenet.co.uk/batchxxx

If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

Christmas songs and the like are also not eligible for the Listening Post, although we will collect these into a playlist that will be published on 24 December.

This track is the title track of my third EP released on streaming platforms on 7th November 2025. It imagines what it might feel like to finally give yourself permission to fall in love with someone and begin to believe that it could actually work out. It explores the idea that those elements coming together at the same time could feel like a form of art.

Isla Mae is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter from South Cambridgeshire who currently resides in Leeds whilst studying an Actor Musician degree at Leeds Conservatoire.

Through her music, which ranges in style from Folk or Acoustic to Indie and Pop, Isla uses vivid imagery to tell fictional stories but she also places high importance on using songwriting as a tool to work through and share personal experiences and emotions. Through the release of her debut EP “Dancing under a Pseudonym” and follow up EP “Halfway to the Sun” during her mid-teens, Isla has gained a reputation for impressing with lyrics that are mature beyond her years and her songs have been likened to those by Lily Allen, Lucy Spraggan, Billie Eilish, KT Tunstall and Phoebe Bridgers.

Isla Mae’s credits to date include being named a UK/Ireland Top 5 Finalist in Song Academy's Young Songwriter Competition, a finalist in the UK Songwriting Contest, Cambridge Band Competition’s Best Acoustic Act, Cambridge Radio’s "One To Watch", Crags Radio Unsigned Music Awards 2025 Single of the Year winner, a Top 5 nominee in the Female Solo category of the New Music Generator Awards and a nominee in the Best Female Act category of the Radio Wigwam Awards. Two of Isla’s original songs - "A letter to the Moon" and "Beautiful People" – were also picked to feature on Spotify's Fresh Finds Folk editorial playlist in the summer of 2024.

Isla’s performance highlights so far include solo acoustic sets at Camp Bestival, Cambridge Club Festival and on the main stage at Ely Folk Festival and she can occasionally be spotted gigging with a full band at events such as the Fiver night at the Cambridge Junction.
