We are happy to finally welcome good friend and hard techno connoisseur Josh Reid to the podcast series. Having grown up in the Dublin area, he decided to make the move to Berlin where he found himself in a much less limiting electronic music environment. Since then he has been carving his name into scene here playing regularly both in Berlin and beyond.

Our boy delivers just over an hour and a half of hard groove, hard techno and everything in between. Powerful stuff from the Irishman.

This week on the Ismcast we have Sabu!.

After making her Ismus debut closing out the Anomalie garden during summer she makes her return, this time for the podcast. The Sachsentrance resident is well known for her high energy dj sets and productions taking heavy influences from the early hard dance scene.

She has kindly shared just shy of an hour and a half of full force hard dance bangers which will set you up nicely for whatever this weekend has in store for you.

The young Frenchman, now based in Berlin, has already made his name with big releases on labels such as RAW, Rave alert and KTK. His blend of solid rhythms and emotional melodies has ÅMRTÜM in high demand, playing regularly in Europe.

This week on the Ismcast we have D.A.V.E. The Drummer.

We are honoured to have such a legend contribute to our podcast series. Since we started listening to electronic music Henry has been there, delivering banger after banger, managing to stay true to his sound yet keeping relevant to an always evolving scene. The ’Stay Up Forever’ resident has been a key part of the UK rave scene's development for over 30 years now and continues to push things forward. After his scorcher set at our ‘Welcome Back Devil’ showcase last month we were very eager to get him on the podcast.

The mix is outstanding as expected. A brilliant mixture of old and new hard techno displaying fantastic technical prowess from a man that knows his way around the decks.

Ismcast Presents 180 - D.A.V.E. The Drummer

This week on the Ismcast we have LACCHESI.

The Paris based Frenchman has been kind enough to supply this weeks mix for our ismcast series. Lacchesi, co-founder of Maison Close, has been on the rise for some time now releasing music regularly on his own imprint as well as remixing for great artists such as Darzack. He has also dropped tracks which he has worked on alongside artists such as ABSL, Francois X and Mac Declos to name just a few.

The mix is just over an hour of bouncy, abstract techno displaying quite a unique sound which we absolutely love.

We are excited to finally share our next Ismcast brought to you by the Canadian Queen of Trance. This week on the Ismcast we have Bours?.

Another outstanding artist contributing to the podcast series this week in the form of the French groove master Bours?. The 'Thump Out Traxx' lable co-founder has been moving from strength to strength in recent years having dropped some serious techno on labels such as RAW and Dusk as well as his own imprint.

Ismcast Presents 183 - Bours?

This week on the Ismcast we have Felicie.

Part of the Exil Paris collective, Felicie is one of the most promising djs and producers in the hot Parisian rave scene. After releasing on labels such as Exhale, Mord or Soma, her next EP is planned to be released on Clergy. Felicie’s unreleased music has been supported by household names such as Dax J, Amelie Lens, Rebekah, Bas Mooy or Cleric. After playing for several collectives in France, Felicie has now had international bookings in Madrid, Bogota, Montreal or Lisboa, and has played in renowned clubs as Griessmuehle, Fold, Grelle Forelle or La Machine du Moulin Rouge. She also recently performed her first Boiler Room. From high tempo grooves to fast paced sounds, Felicie developed her own style always focusing on giving the crowd an uncompromising and energetic set.

An hour of fast and hardgroove representing the energy of what she would play on peak-time hour, including oldschool classics with a couple of her favorite tracks, and a few unreleased.

Ismcast Presents 184 - Felicie

This week on the Ismcast we have Caniche.

Before having played in major cities like London, Vienna and Berlin, where she resides today, Caniche developed her penchant for hard but groovy Techno early on. From her very first set in 2018, Caniche’s unique style has always been characterized by combining Tribal Techno and Hardgroove with full-on Schranz. Mesmerizing old school percussion and drums constitute the main element of her mixes. 

While still in the process of developing her own sound as a producer, her recent tracks head in a similar direction, with a first release on Twice Infinity's sub label Groovecore United coming out in January 2023. 

As co-founder and resident of Vienna’s Female DJ Network - PUSH, Caniche fiercely fights for more visibility and equal treatment of FLINTA artists in the harder Techno scene. The network structure aims to connect and be a source of new approaches, mutual support, and inspiration for like minded DJs across Europe.

Ismcast Presents 185 - Caniche

This week on the Ismcast we have Martina Menfors.

Martina Menfors is a Gothenburg-based DJ that emerged onto the underground techno scene in 2015. Since then she has been heard in various locations ranging from festivals such as Way out West to underground clubs in Shanghai. Martina was resident at the infamous Rottweiler bar, but is now resident and artist at STRECK. Her sound is known to be eclectic, fast-paced and punky involving everything from industrial techno to trancy melodies.

Expect: energetic, sexy and expressive.

Ismcast Presents 186 - Martina Menfors

This week on the Ismcast we have D4N.

Hailing from Glasgow, D4N is a young DJ and producer focused on bringing his percussive and high energy music to the dance floor. His sound ranges from driving, groovy techno to spacey, euphoric trance. His productions lean more towards the trancey, melodic side with releases on labels such as ‘Unity Records’ and ‘Gaul’. The first half of 2023 will show D4N releasing his second signed ep on Francks  label ‘Carouse’ and a single release on ‘deadline records’ which will show D4N’s more recent venture into groove focused productions. 2023 is set to be an exciting and prosperous year for D4N.
 
Having had regular appearances around the Glasgow clubs such as la cheetah and Berkeley suite and recently having his international debut in Köln at the age of 18, D4N is set to make a huge impact in the European techno scene within the coming years 

This podcast explores D4Ns more recent decision to focus on the groovier old school style of techno yet keeping that modern energetic vibe throughout.

This week on the Ismcast we have Blame The Mono.

Blame The Mono is the result of an uncompromising artistic encounter between two DJs and producers. As members of a new generation decided to push the boundaries of conventional techno, their productions offer forward-thinking sound design and strong stylistic identity through an important blend of influences ranging from Metal, Rock, and Hip Hop to PsyTrance.

Their signature usage of vocals combined with rich song arrangements and sometimes dark, sometimes euphoric moods, make their tracks diverse, yet they all remain fine-tuned for peak-time chaos. The duo’s DJ sets present an explosive selection highlighting their love of digging and showing their will to satisfy the hungriest and sweatiest dancefloors.

Ismcast Presents 188 - Blame The Mono

Onleash is the latest project from the Oslo-based artist Erik Spanne. His unique blend of hardcore techno laced with trap-phone chirps, pummelling kick drums and ultrasharp melodies has already become a secret weapon for some of the leading DJs and tastemakers like; VTSS, Anetha, SPFDJ, Shlomo, Juliana Huxtable and many more.

Together with the Norwegian artist FAKETHIAS he started MASSIVE GAIN a multidisciplinary project appearing in various forms, both as a record label and as the duo’s singular musical output. MASSIVE GAIN embodies techno as a vessel for experimentation, fusing its memetics with an insurgent perspective of club music.
Onleash is set to play at the next ISMUS XL party Alte Munze in March, while is also preparing a compilation release on MASSIVE GAIN featuring work from DJ Valentimes, FAKETHIAS, Truthspeaker, himself and more.

One of the main protagonists of the techno 2.0 generation, the leading man of the Lenske family and Exhale community, Farrago is a name that sparks joy. The Belgian DJ and producer his name is synonymous to fast and trippy sounds from the broader spectrum of electronic music.
A mix of trancey melodies and psy infused techno are to be expected when you are surrounded by other ravers on Sam’s dancefloor. 

After 3 releases on the Berlin based A R T S label, the Exhale resident co-founded Lenske with Amelie Lens in 2018 and has been a mainstay there for the past few years. 
Nearly  years later, a new chapter unfolds with the announcement of his debut album that will be released on a new label ran by the man himself.

DJ Valentimes is a producer, DJ, and label head based out of New York City.

Through his two labels (PUPPY & Anti State Electronics (run with Tweaker-229)) and most recently, Nausea, he has established a firm representation in the global underground, showcasing the sounds of clandestine celebration.

Frequenting Europe in the past 13 months, he has made appearances at Herrensauna, Enter Oslo, Corsica Studios, Ved Siden AF, PTX, & more.

On Beatportal's 'one to watch' list and coined by Dummy Mag as one of the best emerging producers - from industrial techno, with MPC claps to reverberating breaks and futuristic soundscapes, AK Sports sees diverse releases on esteemed underground UK, Australian and Berlin based labels such as Higher Power, Shall Not Fade, Mad Decent, Gallery Recordings, Nasty Enterprises Berlin and a 45 minute cassette tape via Club Glow Tapes London which received acclaim on DJ Mag as one of the top releases of 2021. The last year saw a stellar debut set at HÖR Berlin, Fabric Nightclub London, Splendour in the Grass Australia and headlining various tastemaker clubs across UK, EU, Australia, NZ and the USA as well as most recently hosting a Boiler Room under their LA based collective WARP MODE due to air next month.

This week on the Ismcast we have Metaraph.

Metaraph is a non binary multidisciplinary artist based in Berlin.
They are a DJ, music producer, dancer, jewellery designer and performance artist.
Signed under Bpitch label in Berlin, Metaraph started to gain their audience more widely also after their multiple appearances at Hor Berlin reaching new audiences all over Europe and through the United States.

Nowadays they are resident for Ellen Allien’ s event We are not Alone and Gegen in Berlin. Released by various label as Bpitch, Dusk, TSA and much more, their music expand and constantly shapeshifts. Fast, ethereal, industrial, melancholic and raw journeys are created through their sound, succeeding in tearing out the individual inner chaos and transcending it to a higher level of consciousness. The master of metamorphosis crossbreeeds genres between hardcore, ambient, industrial, hardtechno, and rave through hard kicks and sharp percussions always bundled with longing trancey melodies.

Dutch artist Franky-B is a producer/DJ with a unique and characteristic sound, combining elements of trance, acid, and hard-style. His sets deliver a powerful, bouncy, and fast-paced experience (+/- 155BPM) showcased through his playful mixing style to keep the crowd engaged. Although his music and track selection are melodic and vocalic, the fundamental pillar of his sets still remains to be the hard-punching kicks of the hard-techno sound.

Next to his own released EPs, he has also released on labels such as: Rave Alert, KTK, Recollection Records, Falsive Records, Voight-Kampff and more.

Ismcast Presents 194 - Franky-B

This week on the Ismcast we have Balrog. 

Hailing from Leeds in the north of the UK, Balrog is an artist whose style focuses on heavy groove-ridden drums, driving bass lines, and distorted vocals. His tracks take influence from classic hardgroove but with a fresh injection of modern industrial power. 

Focussing on this signature sound of industrial groove techno has seen him release on labels including Soma, Ear To Ground, Hydraulix, Instruments Of Discipline, Moments In Time and Green Fetish. This industrial groove sound blends into his high-energy and powerful DJ sets which have seen him headline events in cities such as New York, Berlin, London, Leeds, Manchester, Budapest, Glasgow, and more. 

Balrog also runs his own record label, Khazad Records, which releases music from the very best industrial groove and hard techno talent around.

This week on the Ismcast we have Alexander Lind

STRECK Resident & co-founder Alexander Lind AKA Sonic is co-founder of Gothenburg label/organiser/collective Streck as well as No Regrets and Esta Noche, running memorable raves and booking well thought out line-ups, helping to keep the Gothenburg underground scene alive.

Alexanders fast-pace techno sets are known to be playful and eclectic whilst leaning on a steady ground of dirty kicks, heavy bass-lines with a touch of his love for trance and euphoric melodies. As a producer he made his first vinyl release on his own imprint Streck.
