Minimal wave

2020 has been one rough ride for everyone, forcing us all to review what we thought was normal and maybe, one would argue, even our priorities.
Two years have passed since their previous Inflict LP and we don't really know how what recently happened impacted on the band's mastermind Michael but what’s sure is that Veil Of Light are now a fully grown-up band.
Landslide is their fifth full-length (and their third on Avant!) and it’s definitely their most elaborated album.
Ten new songs, rather than the usual eight, with a perfect balance of Coldwave-inspired intimate atmosphere and synthpop catchy melodies. Musically speaking it's still clear where the Swiss duo draws their influences from, right in between New Order’s moodiness and The Klinik trying one softer, less brutal approach to their Electro. But a new sense of privacy is reflected all through these new tracks, enhanced by lyrics now more personal than ever.
The Prayer Wheel is a page torn out of a private diary, Love And Money is a mechanical mantra for a no-way-out situation; Suburban War is a confession of defeat whispered at night, No Return is the last dance before reaching the point of.
This is the kind of record that takes its time, and takes its toll, we just need to sit down and listen because there's much to discover.

After the huge success of our previous MME909 by Traxx and Npnk, here is a new selection of industrial, post-punk, EBM edits selected and made by Dunkeltier also known as Sneakers DJ (Uncanny Valley, Frigio…). 
Dunkeltier has worked to give a second life to those very obscure tracks and needed to be adjusted. Giving tribute to the defunct artist Kozmonaut on this new extended version of “The Mann”. “Tanzmusik” by Absolute Body Control was originally 1:40 and completely underexploited, we have now a strong solid dance floor killer!
“Saturday Night” by eM (also known as SM Nurse) was originally only released on tape and needed a proper restoration. And some of you will probably recognise the final track “A Dey” but completely remixed by Dunkeltier.

On "Tanzmusik":

I really was kind of shocked nobody did an edit before as this snippet-like killer track from 1987 is a must play.

I was able to stretch 'Tanzmusik' (dance music) from 1:26 min to more than 6 minutes without feeling any boredom while listening. It's not my credits, it's the genius of this classic wave band.

I felt having a good run so I did it in one go.

As the name says i added lot's of phasing which works more than well on the original short synth loop modulation.
So (you'll) have  fun with a 3-band-EQ on your DJ-desk! :)

Absolute Body Control - Tanzmusik (SNEAKERS 'DUNKLE PHASE' AJUSTEMENT)

Disco Morato and Gegen Mann are Moscow based DJs and sound producers. By playing their music they try to touch the darkest aspects of human emotion expressing an atmosphere of body-control. Apart from DJing they produce music and signed to UK-based NEIN Records. And as a collaboration, they founded imprint “MAXIMA CULPA RECORDS” to develop their specific sound and vision of music. This release is also the result of their collaboration.

There are 10 tracks created with total freedom to experiment with sound.
