It took some time for me to recover from that insane new years party... probably already my favourite get-together this year. So many familiar faces - so many awesome people to start this new turn with and for sure the very best opportunity to play my brand new and never heard before solo liveset there infront of a bunch of beloved people.

I wanna say thank you to everyone who helped organize this terrific event and to everyone who attended and celebrated with us.

Today I wanna present the recording of this liveset which is a big step and a new very exciting chapter of me feeling, creating and playing music - enjoy!

It’s finally here! After a couple of years of providing music to the world through mixtapes and parties, the time has come and it kind of feels like a circle is somewhat closing as our very first compilation is seeing the light of day. 

This selection features eight amazing artists whose music we admire - including some good friends, many Schleichcast Allstars and yours truly, two of our collective's members. We love how all tracks stand for themselves in their unique styles as they cover a strong variety of soundscapes, moods and subgenres, but come together like puzzle pieces representing the multi-faceted nature of downtempo. 

We thank all artists involved for your trust in this first-timer-project. It’s an absolute honor and we're super proud being able to release your beautiful music while we take our first baby steps towards this label thingy. <3

ISSUESWITHMYSLEEP - Sabre

Dunkelkammer is back with some releases in 2024... we just spent some time in the studio - tracks are in mastering now and will drop soon. But - we got a little pretasting session for you already. This is a recording of our set from NQ Festival last year to carry you into spring and it contains alot of unreleased material that will see the light of day in the couple next months. Thanks to Adapter and Waldtraut Lichter for the invitation to this very charming festival.

'Reasons To Breathe' is the title track of this new release and features a sample of 'Ishmael Ensemble's track 'Tunnels'. A new mood is build around a vivid and drifting drum loop and the smooth sax leadline. The identically called EP assembles a number of impellent and moving tracks which gradually became more conceptual and metamorphic, allowing the arrangements to to take deep breath - spending time developing a consistent dramaturgy and forming a sense of humanness behind the machines.

South German producer 'issueswithmysleep' wrought a story of love and loss - sorrow and aspiration in this piece. 'Celia' sings about elysian realms - the darkness beneath, and their ambivalence. Since the beginning of his studies and ongoing after his diploma at the Stuttgart Academy Of Fine Arts in 2021, Maximilian Luz was building his own little DIY-cosmos around ISSUESWITHMYSLEEP. Meanwhile mainly concentraiting on music production, he works with diverse installations, including projection, film and visual art. Often in cooperation with other local and international artists.

Coming from Britrock, Indie and UK Hardcore music in his earlier years, influencing his sound and style of production, which primarily can be heard in his livesets, he developed his sound over Ambient and Experimental in the direction of Minimal Techno, Organic and Afro House, setting focus on groove, danceability and a fast evolving sound. Fierce lead synths meeting afrobeats, bald baselines and catchy guitar riffs making his sound agitating yet unique.
