Armed with his microphone, a drum machine, a few virtual synths and an electric guitar borrowed from a friend, the Moroccan artist is inspired by his daily life and the society that surrounds him to give life to 4 magnificent post-punk pieces with slight psychedelic accents.

Night wandering at risk in the empty streets of Casablanca under curfew, isolation and vulnerability, fighting spirit, nostalgia: Prophän delivers us a personal work full of sincerity.

With « Room To Cry », the Hungarian Techno/EBM DJ-Producer Man + Machine team up with Emke of the internationally acclaimed Dark Pop duo « Black Nail Cabaret » to deliver an astonishing genre-crossing protest song against women abuse.

After being sadly inspired by the tragic events in Poland against the ’abortion law’ (and the suggestion of getting a “personal room” for women to have the “chance to have a cry” after giving birth to foetuses with fatal defects), Man + Machine & Emke decided to draw a larger picture and use the power of their lyrics to denounce the ongoing violence against women in our societies.

The result is a riveting song with a strong message, carried by the powerful and touching voice of Emke, at the crossroads of industrial, pop, metal, techno and synthwave music.

On the B-Side, the head of Istigkeit Records reveals a new side of his musical universe with a post-punk version of the song under a new moniker : Velvet Claw.

"This punishing track is the result of some funny moments in the studio with Angel Karel, head and resident of the queer and sexually liberated events called "NO GENDER" in Lyon.

After a few attempts within different genres, we finally decided to "disconnect our brains" and just do something cold, raw and violent (with its heart which slowly melt from 133 to 20 BPM). Hence the title 'Punitive Expedition'."

Universal Poison is Istigkeit's first EP on his own imprint.

For this big first, Istigkeit has decided to unveil some early works which were originally supposed to be out on the label of a fellow artist who unfortunately putted it on a hiatus.

The release takes dance music down a dark alley and mostly offers dancefloor-unfriendly beats.

The whole piece can be described as a blend of cold broken techno and industrial music with black/doom metal influences.

Accustomed to tribal and hypnotic rhythms, the Moroccan sorcerer Prophän is now venturing into new territories with "Blood, Fear & Injustice".

In this creation, noisy kicks, distorded vocals, wavy synths and doom basses pave the way to form an eclectic but coherent ensemble.

Produced in an environment which oppresses minorities who do not conform to the established standards, « Blood, Fear & Injustice » is as much a work of art as a militant act. Hence the different titles which all refers to the control of the people by the political and religious ruling class.

To conclude this EP, we thought that there was no better way than bringing the greek sound activist ANFS to the bill! The head of Vanila Records offers us his own vision of Prophän’s « Silent And Under The Boot » and we can say that the result is a real show of force, with its palpable tension and its rhythm which keep on getting heavier.
