Gooby is a shortening of the term, "good bubby", which is what I call sweet tomcats. The term bubby started in our family with our late cat, Zeke, who was a chill but muscular black cat. He died from feline Type 1 Diabetes  a while ago - back in 2007 - but he lives on through the nickname.

The story when it was for the character:
The original Deltrablade was deemed unfit for the valiant sword fighter, so after some snooping around in grams documents, just before I was about to draw Deltra, I found a particular theme that interested me and thought would fit Deltrablade. So I did what any normal person would do and forced Gram to make the theme I was listening to in to Deltrablade. So a few weeks and plenty of 6/4 later, here we -

Besides, this theme is really great one according to us in our artificial contest we totally didn't made up. I think Fristo thinks this song sounds spanish, while I heard one other person referring it as an "Arabian Wafflemix". Regardless I'm quite satisfied.
