We created the soundtrack for Tide magazine’s first issue. 

We worked together on the occasion of this new publication, by following the same guidance as the editorial team: to explore the notions of fulfillment and emptiness, through sonic textures instead of words and images. 

The result is less of a straightforward mix, and more of a varied musical atmosphere, which invites our readers to experience every page in an innovative way.

heyy guys i havent been posting lately bc ive had no time to make smth crazy/impressive due to work/school/life. So i wont have any time to make a yk a tryhard edit or just sm like that so due to these circumstances ive decided that im going to be posting a lot more simpler audios and audios that are mostly for me bc ngl i dont listen to a single audio i post and yk its time i start making sm stuff that i like. ty guys for listening to my stuff in the past i really appreciate all the love you guys have given me but my life has changed now and its about time i rearrange my priorities ill try my best to post constantly simple edits but again ty guys. also another thing i learned and want to say is that revenge is a mirror that reflects nothing but your own pain. At first, it feels sharp—focused. You believe it will restore something that was taken, return balance, make the hurt make sense. But the more you feed it, the more it drains you. It doesn’t heal the wound—it keeps it open. You begin to live in response, not intention, shaped by what was done to you rather than who you are. And when it’s over, when the moment passes, you realize nothing changed. They’re untouched. Only you remain in the aftermath, still carrying what you thought you were giving away. If there’s one artist at Noorden who doesn’t need any further introducing it’s Berlin-based @the-marx-trukker for sure. Companion of the first hour and release resident across all formats: from 7-inch to 12-inch to cassette and now finally 10-inch. The missing link so to say. ›There’s News From 2T5S8‹ marks his seventh release for the Cologne-based label.

Mark on his EP: »The tracks are quite literally a bit of a comeback for me. I started experimenting a lot with acoustic recordings in the spring of 2017 and had briefly distanced myself from electronic devices completely. With this release, both strands of work joined together again, and I combined them in a way that was new for me. Atmosphere-wise it sounds and feels like autumn – but that’s clear anyway.«

While contemplating the right genre for this EP, we got the feeling that we had to think of a new one for Mark. We call it ›Heavy Pedal Indietronics‹.

[Noo10x10-2] The Marx Trukker – There’s News From 2T5S8

Starts off as Bristol meets Brazil with a track from the M. Takara & Carla Boregas album on Bokeh and stays on a West Country vibe with the opening track from Robin Stewart’s new No Corner release ft. Daniela Dyson. Next is some Glacial Heal Aid from Yamaneko circa 2017 which is followed by a slice of F Ingers from the same year, before a stylistic swerve into Indonesian outfit Zatua. New SUDS grot taken from the LAVALAVA V/A that just dropped. This is a new track from the Aircode EP on Alien Jams and then some unreleased Teresa Winter and obligatory Perila inclusion. Some Russian new age by XYR  from that Miracle Steppahs comp by Fergus 12th Isle and JD Twitch before a “track trifle” c/o Georgia’s Brian Close which is from his split release with Kiki Kudo forthcoming on Best2s. Absolutely love the gated snare on this Model Home track which is on their new Future Times album - go gripppp! Equally this is a proper cut from the new TVII Son release on MIC Records before a So Low anthem from John Bender. Still no idea who Speculative Ero is but I really like this track from their Ominira release. This is one of three mad Morgan Buckley remixes of Natural Wild due out on All City Records - feels so good to have some new MB to blast. Up the Dubs! Love all the tracks on the new Workshop v/a but this Iku Sakan one is my favourite. This is from the TRjj compilation Stroom put out last year which I have been revisiting lately - I recommend you do too! Was thrilled to see Laila Sakini on Boomkat’s Documenting Sound series and this track stood out on first listen. Bass Clef doing an album based around vocoder experiments is even better than it sounds - as this track demonstrates! E-Unity low rider from their new EP on Simo Cell’s new label before some equally-paced dub techno from Martinou on the new AD93 Blue release. A lil hoodie jam from naemi and shy ♡ before this massive slab of angry drum machine business by Rabih Beaini on the Morphine comp released to raise funds for ongoing Lebanese relief efforts and then some classic PG Sounds to end it all.

Suburban Cracked Collective is an alias of Shaun Leacy, and his self-released album from last year, Private Failings (No Confidante Dictae), was one of my favourites. I seeked out all of his previous works (These Awkward Fractions, Pineal Dreams, Basquiat Upon The RSL) and was amazed by the consistency throughout them all. His music is tense and delicate and laced with a beautiful sense of melody. He’ll be releasing his next album, Swimming Amongst The Dregs, on A Colourful Storm next month.

Suburban Cracked Collective - A Colourful Storm Dublab Takeover

Beequeen is the duo of Freek Kinkelaar and Frans de Waard, and they have just released an album, Winter, on A Colourful Storm. Both have celebrated musical histories in the Dutch DIY and avant-garde – the latter having been involved with countless solo and collaborative projects, including Kapotte Muziek, Korm Plastics and Staalplaat. The former might be better known as Brunnen, a longstanding musical alias whose album, Sometimes My Arms Bend Back (Vrystaete, 2015), urged me to get in touch. This mix features their own productions (including one cover song), gathered from over twenty years of collaborative recording.
