Andrew's languid selections in the first 58 mins includes DJ Sotofett, Sun Ra, Robert Wyatt, Haroumi Hosono and more. First ever (but probably not the last) pre-record ITT - Strictly Premiere Pro Selections :) First up some dragonfly song bath from Ursula & Todd’s Music & Poetry for rvng then a real highlight of the TTTrystero LP. This cut from the new Cucina Povera LP on Night School sounds a bit Acido to me! Can we get more Conga Square and can we get more PFF drops Palto Flats? Obligatory/Compulsorary West Mineral Ltd inclusion from the Exael and Ben Bondy LP. Think I’ve played this Suba track on radio before - probably cos its a mind blower. Some early Roll The Dice aka THE WHALE SONG (shouts to Crystal) which eventually meets some Scat from the Voice Hardcore album by Phew. Some Limited and Waning Memory by Christina Vantzou felt appropriate here as did a little BBBVBF from Shamos. I’ve played this Kiki Kudo track around 4,735 times since it was released last month; I hope you enjoy it too. A firm favourite from the canon of Jefre Cantu Ledesma and then a lil spurt The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band before some Bristol dub science from Robin Giant Swan on TTT. Love this Model Home track from their recent LP 15 - go check it on their bandcamp. More Bristol business from Robin Giant Swan alongside the Mighty Sunun from the Bokeh Allstars compilation. This is a Visible Cloaks edit of Gabi Delgado-López (RIP sir) and this is that killer Doc L Junior from the first Soundtracks for No Film on Acido. Some green by Hiroshi Yoshimura, some Heckle and Moss, some Lord Tusk. Why isn’t everyone talking about this Square Fauna album on Firecracker???? A little ambient vignette from MGUN’s Don’t Be Afraid LP meets a track from this stunning new Perila album she self-released and then we’ve got a bit of ambient D&B by Mark from his split with Christophe de Babylon to finish.

This was my first ever mix using Ableton which you can probably tell from some of the naive transitions between tracks :) 

Tracklist: 

Some idiosyncratic piano to commence - first from CV & JAB and then Jack Chrysalis on Mana - before a little wander through Bristol-bent pop music. Jasmine from Jabu gracing a Jay Glass Dubsplate and Killing Sound covering The Knife (discomix version). The first of two glassy Niagara tracks from their new album which gets consumed by Grimescapes Spider Mix (obligatory YOUTH inclusion: check) itself then swallowed by some new SUNUN on her new label. Mood shift c/o some whimsical electronixxx from Atonal and then Tanka Riddim from Blazer Soundsystem’s Efficient Spaces split w/ CS & Kreme. The title track from Exael and Acid Arad’ Motion Ward release follows then its the ELLLL track from the recent FSL compilation. Here’s a brittle track from Pavel Milyakov’s Masse Métal LP on TTT and then some weird erotic tension from Perila’s recent ‘tracking stones within four walls/ air of spring’ album. Had a bit of a binge on 33.103402’s bandcamp and this is the first of two tracks in this mix which then meets a beatless progger by Tom of England. Still working my way through the massive CANAL Vol. 1 by Georgia but this is one of my early favourites. Some French robot funk by Geins't Naït reissued on Editions Gravats last year before Call Super’s contribution to that In Order To Care R&S compilation issued on bandcamp earlier this month. Another 33.10.3402 plunger. Lovely track from Shanti Celeste’s LP then some Tribe of Colin beatdown. DOLO 24! This is Shadowax, that is WasWaas on TTT. Another track from the Niagara LP (can you tell I really like it?) then some Sunny Balm from the excellent and overlooked album he put out last year on Sacred Summits. This YPY track on Acido makes me wish he collaborated with Beatrice Dillon, whilst this Dolo Percussion + Martyn hookup makes me hope they do more together. The superbly named Doubt Free European from the FSL compilation is a nice penultimate track to drop before ending on this amazing Jabu track from their tape with Daniela Dyson.

A sharp sweet Space Afrika vignette plunged into the echo chamber comes out riding some Wavy Terekke. Forgot about this Call Super remix of Mr FIngers! All nine minutes of SRS dub techno from Sunun and Robin Stewart. Most of another track from CANAL VOL 1 by Georgia. This is some new Shakey by Silvia Kastel and Wilted Woman - due on Palto Flats soon. A fine slab of psychoacoustic construction from the Dream Cycles record on Queeste. Always come back to this bit of Tomaga grub. No 011 from Laurel Halo’s World Without Heroes. uon the bus yet? what an absolutely beautiful Rex Illusivi composition this is, and it fits so well with Aboutface spread over it. This is like the fourth show in a row featuring some perila. WHY IS NO-ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS SQUARE FAUNA ALBUM ON FIRECRACKER? SAME WITH THIS NEW 12TH ISLE FROM GRENOBLE’S Vague Imaginaires! Cucina meets Carlo from Brutaz. A Synaesthetic Step by Kiki Kudo then a frequency check from the great MASS OST by Coby Sey. Could have chosen any track from the new Hoshina Anniversary album on YOOOOOOF its that good - this is “Shinobaremu.” A bit of Silvia Kastel’s 2011 Love Tape which fits right nexto the new Rubber by UVB78. And yes is the restrung version of “Red Sex” by Vessel & Rakhi Singh.

Starts off as Bristol meets Brazil with a track from the M. Takara & Carla Boregas album on Bokeh and stays on a West Country vibe with the opening track from Robin Stewart’s new No Corner release ft. Daniela Dyson. Next is some Glacial Heal Aid from Yamaneko circa 2017 which is followed by a slice of F Ingers from the same year, before a stylistic swerve into Indonesian outfit Zatua. New SUDS grot taken from the LAVALAVA V/A that just dropped. This is a new track from the Aircode EP on Alien Jams and then some unreleased Teresa Winter and obligatory Perila inclusion. Some Russian new age by XYR  from that Miracle Steppahs comp by Fergus 12th Isle and JD Twitch before a “track trifle” c/o Georgia’s Brian Close which is from his split release with Kiki Kudo forthcoming on Best2s. Absolutely love the gated snare on this Model Home track which is on their new Future Times album - go gripppp! Equally this is a proper cut from the new TVII Son release on MIC Records before a So Low anthem from John Bender. Still no idea who Speculative Ero is but I really like this track from their Ominira release. This is one of three mad Morgan Buckley remixes of Natural Wild due out on All City Records - feels so good to have some new MB to blast. Up the Dubs! Love all the tracks on the new Workshop v/a but this Iku Sakan one is my favourite. This is from the TRjj compilation Stroom put out last year which I have been revisiting lately - I recommend you do too! Was thrilled to see Laila Sakini on Boomkat’s Documenting Sound series and this track stood out on first listen. Bass Clef doing an album based around vocoder experiments is even better than it sounds - as this track demonstrates! E-Unity low rider from their new EP on Simo Cell’s new label before some equally-paced dub techno from Martinou on the new AD93 Blue release. A lil hoodie jam from naemi and shy ♡ before this massive slab of angry drum machine business by Rabih Beaini on the Morphine comp released to raise funds for ongoing Lebanese relief efforts and then some classic PG Sounds to end it all.

So I’m delighted to get a mix from one of BAKK’s founders.
