Hyper capitalism, state surveilance, shifting values, mental health disruptions and loss of trust leads us to a new synthetic ignorance in our society. John Parlsey composed his debut release on @lustpoderosa using his very own interpretation of a post minimal wave synth aesthetic. It came out as magical dark and gloomy four tracker which is packed with immersive rhytms, weird staccato voices, claustrophobic acid lines paired with hopeful melodies. Wonderfully bizarro melodies cling to crisped percussion, all shrouded in a smokey blanket of saturation. Haunting basslines, exotic resonance howls, sludgy synths drowning in the umbra, diabolical carnival organs, and stygian vocals, all breathe and shudder together in symphonic, lo-fi darkness. Evocative of The Residents and Throbbing Gristle but wholly unique. Apocalyptic lounge for the long nuclear winter.

"Industrial Technology" is a nod to the New Beat/Techno era of the late 80's and early 90's (New Zone, Zoth Ommog, Boy Records, Antler-Subway, ... to name a few).
Taken from my new EP "Through my Silence" on Frigio Records, it contains an ironic, driving and steadily increasing buildup with the use of the following hardware:

After his appearance on Frigio Allstars Vol 3, Scannoir (also half member of the amazing GOTT project) delivers his first full length EP with "Through My Silence".

Emotive and raw, the style pursued blurs the lines between synth wave, EBM and techno. "Industrial Technology" opens with a driving and steadily increasing buildup that finds its peak with a wink in the late eighties New Beat/Techno era. Followed by "Get Ready (but sorry)" which entertains with powerful drums, thick strings and rumbling chords while samples and distant lyrics recite the coming of change. The breadth of Scannoir’s style is truly remarkable, with this amazing 5 track EP being emblematic of his range. The flip takes a different direction, the lovelorn lament of “Through My Silence” melts sweetened synth lines with cold pain-streaked words before blooming into a brooding burner. A shaky alliance between samples and vocals runs through the rhythmic assault and violent undertones of “Why Old News.” The closure comes with the marching melancholy of “Alles Wird Gut”, a dark and moody end to this debut EP.
