現代音楽/アンビエント・ミュージック（環境音楽）の活動を中心に、エコロジカルな自然映像やハートウォーミングなアニメーション映像などをはじめ、音と映像で独自の世界を描き続けるアーティスト。楽器はピアノ・キーボードを得意とし、作詞での世界観にも定評がある。2008年、坂本龍一、高橋幸宏、大貫妙子、など、日本を代表するアーティストをゲストに招いたソロアルバム「青い蝶」を発表。同年、映画「西の魔女が死んだ」の映画音楽を全編担当。2010年、アルバム「African Mode」をリリース、TBS「生物多様性」キャンペーン曲を作曲、Salyuのプロデュース、映画監督作品を海外映画祭出展中。国連「COP10/MOP5」のテーマ楽曲・及び国際会議における映像音楽をプロデュース・制作。ジャキス・モレレンバウム、坂本美雨他、など数多のアーティスト・共演・プロデュースと、ミュージシャン、映画監督、マルチクリエイターと複数の顔を使い分けている。

サウンド・アーティスト。port主宰、ATAK所属。先鋭的な電子音楽作品を発表し、国内外でのパフォーマンスを行う一方、様々なメディアや実空間へのサウンド・デザイン、先端テクノロジーを用いたインタラクティヴ・プログラムなど、音を主軸にその活動は多岐にわたる。昨年リリースした自身の最新アルバム『acoustic bend』(port/2010)は、フィールド・レコーディングをかつてない手法で位相変換した立体的で高密度なサウンドにより「10年代最初の音楽的進化を成し遂げた革新的アルバム」と評され、大きな話題を呼んだ。最近では、NTTインターコミュニケーション・センター(ICC)の無響室にて24.4chの立体音響インスタレーション『for maria anechoic room version』を渋谷慶一郎(ATAK)とともに発表。また、川口隆夫(Dumb Type)やGRINDER-MANの新作パフォーマンス公演において360度をめぐるマルチchで音楽を手がけるなど、旺盛な活動を展開。その卓越した聴力と技術精度、鮮烈な音楽性は、世界的にも比類なきレベルに到達していると、現在最も注目を集める電子音楽家のひとりである。

Stroboscopic Artefacts presents the Monad series. Rarefied and introspective, confrontational and extreme, each featured artist will delve into the Monad concept:
"The generation of number series is related to objects of geometry as well as cosmogony. From the Monad evolved the Dyad; from it numbers; from numbers, points; then lines, two-dimensional entities, three-dimensional entities, bodies, culminating in the four elements earth, water, fire and air, from which the rest of our world is built up."
AOKI Takamasa's Monad IX is a stark example of exploring the periphery of contemporary electronic music and yet impressing an artisitc identity upon these fringes. An anonymous voice on 'mnd-sng-01' blurts 'shake everything', and this is his point. Shake not just yourself on the dance floor, but shake your notions of artistic processes. The tracks draw attention to themselves as constructions, they're not titled but serial numbered from 'mnd-sng-01' right through to 'mnd-sng-04'.
