I met @hss-2 in Tokyo in Summer 2019, along with Yama, Takanori and Takashi. Hisashi was my first friend in Tokyo and he introduced me to the city's incredible nightlife. At the end of my time there he invited me to a party in a curry restaurant at the top of a skyscraper by the sea. One of the best nights of my life!

Francesco Farfa is widely recognised as a symbol of Italian club culture and a benchmark to a generation of diggers and DJs. In a pre-globalised DJ scene, he was one of the few exports playing far and wide, pushing the later coined 'progressive' sound.

He has DJ'd through four decades, from playing proto-house, new beat and hip house in the late 80s to becoming the emblem of the north Italian progressive "Sound Of Tirreno" scene of the 90s.

Here is a glimpse into what Farfa was up to in 1994.

Marseille boys Raf and Vins aka The Signal Phantasm (@signalphantasm) impressed many with their first EP, Holy Bread, which has just been put out on Lumbago (@lumbagoo). Its pumping house rhythms with breakbeat interludes, ray-gun zaps and Snoop Dogg samples got us wondering what a mix from these guys would come out like. So we asked, and they delivered!

Their selection in today's podcast is described by R+V as a combination of cosmic Detroit sounds, futurist techno and avant-garde bleeps and breaks. It's got us more than ready to party with these two sometime in the near future.

Recorded in the midst of a nine hour (second attempt) after party with DJ Koolt that was originally shut down in her friend's flat, podcast number three has been sent over from 🇪🇸   by our friend Lumiére (@lucylumiere)! We first discovered Lucy through her work with MISTRESS (@mistress-tracks), a crew that hold a residency at Macarena club in Barcelona and have hosted the likes of Laurine and DJ Masda at their parties. Lumiére's selection for us today is full of bright energetic house, deep spacey techno and uk garage rollers. We've been looking forward to this one for months so make sure to dance !

@leonardo-crespi: "well.. i'm currently living in glasgow doing my dissertation for my masters in finance. i'm still buying records even if i don't have any turntables here! i recorded this mix during my easter vacation in italy, where i have all my records. i'm part of a collective based in varese called yay. we started organising parties locally and then we expanded in milan, rome, verona but also in europe (berlin, barcelona, strasbourg, lugano). in 2015 we opened our own record label (yay recordings) and we are now releasing our tenth record. i love music and i love playing as deejay, even in small parties. it's not my job, but it's one of the things i like to do the most."

@antoinesy, from Hossegor in the south west of France, has been making parties happen for five years as the head of BinarySound (also a label) and has welcomed the likes of DJ Koolt, seekers, The Ghost and Titonton Duvante. He has releases on OPIA Records, Novi Orbis + BinarySound and will soon have new music out on Antam, a label that he co-owns. Antoine recorded the mix by the beach after a surfing session which inspired him to create more of a relaxed sound. His selection reflects his current tastes which span downtempo and house, before he returns to darker club tracks for the winter, and the mix is in two parts, linked with an IDM track.
