Before I read and understood the lyrics I didn't connect the dots that this song is about Overwatch addiction lol. I had a completely different interpretation the first time I listened based on some complex feelings I'm having. I like this warm, sweet, innocent woman but I'm holding myself back because I would be the wrong guy for her "Cause I'm a bad boy fuckin' with a good girlie She gonna carry me" I also wonder if my feelings are toxic, like I subconsciously want to take advantage of her pure heart of gold. "Shine my light, It's do or die, I know there's more out there for me, So why did I Fall in love? This is not how I wanna be" I'm scared that if I do commit I'm going to regret it later when more options eventually open up to me. She's christian and I'm agnostic, so our beliefs don't line up. Will I be satisfied with her? Will she be able to accept all parts of me? I don't want to get close just for it to end with both of us hurt.

I have a dilemma with love. Well, not love, but this limited, distorted idea of love that we worship. Look, maybe in my limited experience I just haven’t met THE person, but i want to propose an idea (it’s not original, im just passing it along.) What if the people and things we love are really just entry points into a state of mind? It’s not that I “love you,” it’s that you help me feel my own love. it seems like being “in-love” is the idea of mistaking someone that opens you up to love, for love itself. YOU ARE THE LOVE. You don’t need to look any farther than your own heart. And the reason I’m frustrated is because every time I’m in a relationship it feels like the other person needs me in order to feel their own love, and then they become so scared of losing me (and therefore love) that they cling too tightly and it pushes me away. We don’t need someone to feel complete, we complete ourselves first and then share our abundance. I still dream of making sacrifices for someone I love, of raising a family, of that selfless commitment, but maybe the reason most marriages end in divorce is because we tried doing it backwards.
