Some artists tell stories from the gutter, but  WhySo is among the rarity that possesses gutter stories that need to be heard. His crash course with Hip Hop came at 15 years old when he hung around his big cousin who had a rap group. It was just a group of street kids where Hip Hop was the soundtrack of life. Together, they used to listen to the latest rap albums, read the latest rap magazines and linear notes on the back of CD jackets (I know, ancient times.) Everything hip-hop! He personally never thought about being an artist, but the seed was firmly planted during those sessions and would soon blossom.
WhySo was pushed into freestyle sessions which led to lingering rhymes and jotting them down long after the cypher had ended. He felt the game growing inside him. Then music progressed into an outlet for him to release his pain, passion, and inner-most thoughts. At the time, he was still just a street kid. He sold drugs. He stole. He hustled. Eventually kicked out of school. He embraced the street life to survive but lacked the knowledge and discipline to manifest his dream into a reality.
After a move to Nashville, his time in the streets would catch up to him and he would have to pay a heavy price. Sentenced to 151 months in federal prison for armed bank robbery, WhySo had to figure out what his life would amount to. He realized he had been blessed with a true talent and gift for Hip Hop. He lost his life but felt alive with the pen. He lost his freedom, but not his freedom to create. With nothing but time on his hands, he began to hone his craft, deepen his lyrical content, and mature his raw cypher-style song structure. Focused and strong, WhySo developed his voice and poised his lips to release the message born from within.
After his release, WhySo came into his own when he touched down where his word play and lyrical content developed into a southern delivery. His style is bi-polar, meaning on one track it’s fun and intriguing punch lines. The next, story-telling that makes you wonder whether it’s a script for a movie or a court transcript. And he always gives respect to the woman that holds him down. Not to be boxed in, he hasn’t forgotten about the core of a man’s world - his presence.
 Today, WhySo is spending his time building a core fan base through production and writing original content. Using his newfound platform through social media and networking, WhySo is relearning the world we live in after being removed from society for over a decade. Maximizing the studio environment and crafting songs for not only his personal growth, but for the audience that needs to feel his message.
