Sometimes, as artists, we want everything to be perfect and line up in the best way possible... and that’s how art can never end up seeing the light of day. Before last year (2022) I hadn’t released music in 3 years, by far the longest stretch of time that I’d gone without releasing anything since my career began in 2014. During that time I was able to look back and assess everything I’d done musically up until that point. There was one word that came to mind and seemed to sum everything up… 

“FLASHES”⚡️⚡️ ⚡️

flashes of some really really reaaaaally good moments… but some inconsistencies as well. Inconsistencies in my performances mainly. Sometimes working in a studio, under a time limit, you can tend to rush things at times… especially when you’re coming out of your own pocket. When I started recording myself during the pandemic and had the time to experiment + do 100 takes if I felt it was necessary... 
I feel I evolved into a totally different artist 🤖

If you were a fan of mine during that time, a person I like to refer to as Baby Gravy 👶🏽 (2014-2019) then this tape is for you. “Flashes” is a collection of songs from that time period that date back as far as 2015. This tape is a far cry from perfect. I don’t have the time or the resources to go back and make it so either. Most of the songs are half way mixed, followed by takes that could’ve and should’ve been re-done, but I’m fine with the flaws. If people want to judge me as an artist based off the things I created 4, 5+ years ago, that’s fine with me... I’m confident in the artist I am today and can definitively say that Baby Gravy is dead.
