Fast rising Israeli producer, OMRI., returns to Disco Halal with his debut EP ‘My Name Is Omri Dot’. Across four tracks the artist showcases his unique, psychedelic sound that proves just why he’s one of Tel Aviv’s hottest exports right now. Spanning left-field house, indie-dance, and breakbeat, the artist takes us on a sonic journey across his homeland, opening our eyes to the endless possibilities of dance music. For the label, the EP reflects an exotic sound reminiscent of some of our early pioneers– Moscoman, Red Axes, Simple Symmetry – and for emerging, fearless, pioneering talents like OMRI. OMRI. represents a vibrant new generation of musicians emerging out of Tel Aviv, channelling the city's renowned freedom of expression, creating dance music free of the status quo, void of any expectation. It’s an approach heard perfectly on this EP, whether it be via the relentless warped groove of ‘Snakes In The Bed’, the artists futuristic take on breakbeat, with a dubstep esque twist on ‘The Spotlight’, or the evocative, mind numbing vocals on ‘The Great Illusion’, the artist never fails to surprise, consistently veering in new directions.

As far as debut EP’s go, ‘My Name Is Omri Dot’ is a true statement of intent from the artist. Now ready to take his Middle Eastern sound across the globe, these four tracks simply represent the beginning of an exciting journey for OMRI. Crosstown Rebels’ sub-label Rebellion returns with a fourth instalment of its ongoing SOULS series, with fresh tracks from a selection of exciting, up-and-coming talent.
Curated by label head Damian Lazarus, Rebellion’s excellent SOULS series has always transcended sounds and scenes to dig deep into the most forward-thinking new electronic niches. It has a deeply embedded spiritual theme, like most projects with which Lazarus is associated, and this volume again connects the dots between a number of innovative producers from across the globe.
Belgrade and Mykonos-based duo MĪMĪ x FY open up with ‘Robotic Mode’, linking with Estray for a silky synth- laced house cut that goes deep into a cosmic future. The deft chords, spoken words and sci-fi signifiers enrich the groove perfectly. Brazil's Vini Pistori is next with ‘Hypnotized’, a scintillating fusion of pixelated melodies and bright, starry-eyed chords over a drawn-out and languid groove that is perfect for the late-night hours.
Frequent collaborators MILI and Hoomance then step up with ‘Casa Mama’, a playful cut with a carnival feel thanks to the characterful horns which bounce about over the crisp drums. It's a track full of soul and sunshine that captures the joy of dancing outdoors. OMRI closes things with the rubbery bass and skewed synth futurism of his off-grid percussive masterclass, 'Funk Rhythm.’
Another taste-making statement from the label and Lazarus, Rebellion presents SOULS Vol.4 is loaded with the sounds of tomorrow across another excellently curated package.

OMRI. hits Hot Creations with two after-hour cuts with his ‘Dance All Night’ EP. 

With five label debuts already under his belt this year following music via Crosstown Rebels, Disco Halal and more, OMRI. has been busy perfecting his craft and forging his own identity in the global electronic music scene. His dynamic sets and glitchy music style have paved the way for collaborations with artists like Adam Ten, Mita Gami, and Gab Rhome, earning him notable attention from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong. Fresh from his summer appearance at Burning Man, he now brings his latest work to Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations with ‘Dance All Night’—a pair of wonky, late-night tracks that are sure to keep the vibe alive. 

Glitchy grooves and zapping stabs drive the pulse of ‘Dance All Night (Don’t Wanna Fight)’, where alluring vocals take the lead, weaving through a swirling, trippy bassline that keeps the energy spiraling. On the flip side, ‘Japan Tu Teman’ delivers a lively mix of bouncing beats and wiggly synths, wrapped in a kaleidoscope of vibrant percussion that perfectly embodies the pulse of the dancefloor.
