Recording from our closing set at Xylem on 04/11/2021, at Modular.  A little different to our usual - we decided to play a bit harder, and a lot faster. Used this opportunity to play some of our favourite tracks from these past few months to a really energetic crowd. Had a great time! Featuring tracks from LT, KETTAMA, Regent, Steve Rachmad and more. The 1st Release for our new Groove Edits Series is provided by DJ and Producer Duo Novelty.

Cape Town born Craig Van Dijk & Daniel Singer formed Novelty in 2016 as a way to share their passion for upbeat music. The duo push a distinctive sound which is riddled in old school house and dub techno influences. They have slowly been sharing more of their productions, where they have since released music off Akronym, Rave Your Soul and City Bowl Wax Network. 

The pair have also co-founded Xylem, which is a monthly event hosted at the infamous Modular Cape Town. Here, the duo remain committed to pushing a high energy sound inspired by sounds from the 2000s, within the local scene.

Mitsubasa is a vinyl and digital techno label that is becoming a go to imprint having featured tracks by artists like Zadig, Rove Ranger, Obscure Shape, Conrad Van Orton, and Introversion.

Craig Van Dijk and Daniel Singer combine as Novelty and the Cape Town (South Africa) pair are regular respected DJs in their hometown and beyond. They bring their deep, grooving sound to Mitsubasa for the first time following releases on Deadline Rec, Rave Your Soul, and Groove Revival.

For this DT:Premiere we selected "Airlink" with a raw and soulful groove. The funky, rolling rhythms have gliding synth bursts and dreamy tones that warm the airwaves for an energetic ride of analogue deepness.

We had a lot of fun stepping out our comfort zone to curate an hour of Garage and House inspired tracks which we have been enjoying recently.
